As Christian reported earlier today, 2021 four-star offensive lineman Landon Tengwall will be on campus the weekend of March 21st.

However, he might not be the only one.

I just spoke to a source who said the plan is to have fellow four-star offensive linemen Nolan Rucci, Rocco Spindler and Wyatt Milum on campus at the same time along with Tengwall.

And yes, Notre Dame's unofficial Director of Recruiting Blake Fisher has cleared his schedule for that weekend.

I also have reason to believe things may be swinging back in Notre Dame's favor for Spindler. Notre Dame has ramped it up and it's been well received by Spindler. In addition to the staff, Fisher has put in a ton of work here in recent weeks.

I have three hotel rooms reserved but I think if I get tickets I will only use 1, its reasonable in terms of pricing, I might be able to give you one room.

Claypool's numbers from the Senior Bowl...if he can run in the 4.4s, he won't make it out of the second round

    Senior Bowl Check In:
    Height: 6-4.3 (2nd tallest among 15 WR's)
    Weight: 229 (1st among WR's)
    Arms: 33 1/8" (tied for 2nd among WR's)
    Hands: 10" (tied for 1st among WR's)
    Wingspan: 80" (2nd among WR's)

I realize this is an outrageously deep year for wide receivers but the lists I've seen have Claypool as like the 17th best receiver and not even in the top 150 overall players, which just makes no sense to me. He's better than that, and to me he seems like ND's best NFL prospect this year (or at least the highest ceiling - WRs are always risky).

I think you're right, I just don't really understand why he's down that low to begin with. Unless the experts really hate his route running or something nuanced like that, I'm not sure what the knock on him is. He plays fast for someone his size, blocks well, has great hands and body control.

My only theory on it is he's rated low for the same reason ND never moved up in the polls after the Michigan game.... no one was watching.

Multiple people covering the senior bowl have suggested as much. That said he was on a number of top performer lists and was one of only 6 players (Troy Pride included) to hit over 20 mph on the day. Think he will continue to dispel athleticism concerns over the next few months and jump into the second round.

I think Claypool came on late last season and most pundits aren't factoring the last half of the season in their evaluation.

for the record, I remember comparing Claypool to Mike Evans when I saw his HS film (even though he was basically playing against the JV in Canada) but a slightly slower version. His build/size/playing style was so similar to Evans.

I doubt he goes in the first round like Evans, but if he runs in the low 4.4s like Boykin did, I wouldn't rule him out of it either.

    Chase Claypool, WR, Notre Dame

With his size (6-4, 229 pounds), Claypool looks like the type of target who will post up and out-physical defenders to the football. And while he is capable of doing that, his freaky athleticism has really stood out during practices as the trait that could separate him from others on draft boards. On tape, Claypool looked very upright in his routes, which made it tough for him to shake press and create snap out of his breaks. But during drills, he is playing much more loose to defeat the jam and separate at the top of the route with sink. Claypool is known for his impressive athleticism, but he is using that fluidity more effectively as a route-runner during practice compared with his college tape.

That's interesting. It looks like we also play 6 ACC games in 2023, but we only play 4 in 2022 and 2024.

I would guess we either already negotiated games with one of the six ACC teams this year prior to that deal, or we agreed to do 6 and 4 in some years to accommodate other scheduling commitments in 2022 and 2024.

Beating a dead horse here, but Matt Freeman said upwards of 10 players were prepared to transfer if Long was brought back

That would explain the swiftness in which he was fired

agreed, they really kept it under wraps there

I think it also explains why our offense sucked in the first half the year and felt so disjointed. Long couldn't get along with players or the other coaches. BK really should have stepped in much earlier, but the Mich game happened and then he really didn't have a choice but to step in
