Federal funding cuts has caused multiple free mental health clinics in my area to shut down, and the amount of children in foster care is shooting up bc parents are self medicating with drugs and they can’t afford to get help. Then I see this gets funding. It just fucking baffles me how out of touch this guy is. The worst part about it is the poor people elected him.
We needed a space force for the way technology is going. I agree mental health funding shouldn’t be cut but there’s many social programs that need reduction
why do we need a space force? What’s it’s mandate that’s not being addressed by our current military?

when people have extreme unresolved trauma and/or mental health diagnoses but they can’t afford healthcare or counseling, people tend to do things to help themselves cope. Drugs generally fill that need.
not sure if you’re being serious but “self-medicating” is not new nor a pc term. It’s often used for individuals who use drugs to deal with undiagnosed conditions.
