Glad NBATV didn't do a bunch of closeups of the Rockets-Nuggets players, let them all have their moment
Kobe Bryant is my brothers favorite athlete so I’ve always kind of at least pretended not to like him. My reaction to the person that told me was me was shouting “What?!?!?” in a hostile manner. I wouldn’t have predicted that.
His youngest isn't even a year old. Hopefully none of his daughters were on the helicopter, but I find it highly unlikely that they all would be on the helicopter without their mom or a caretaker while Kobe piloted.
Sadly the tweet (from a verified reporter) about his kids NOT being on board has been deleted. These types of things bring out the worst in the media every fucking time.
I’m just in a daze. Guy has been in my life since the lakers traded for him almost 24 years ago. Just tragic
Definitely the first time in my life I have felt this way about someone I have never met dying. Just incredibly sad. RIP Mamba.
Dammit. Last summer I had the privilege to work with his team for a couple of days. This isn't about me but wanted to share the quick story. Talking with his publicist and discussing his security team at the event they joked the security wasn't really to protect him but rather to keep him from talking to every person who asked. And he did it anyway. Because he was that type of guy. (Which made sticking to schedule difficult but that's what they said would always happen). So when everyone starts eulogizing him and sharing similar interactions it's just to show how good of a person he was to people around him even given his ridiculous fame. He was still working to do a lot of good for people. This one sucks.
Omg please please please don’t let that be true. Why am I starting to tear up? this is so fucking weird.
