Can someone explain to me why Jamal Crawford is not a Laker? He fills such a tremendous need - bench scoring.
Because he is terribly inefficient. A volume scorer shooting 40% or less that doesn't shoot threes particularly well at all the last few years, is not what this team needs.
What the fuck is the point of playing that 4 big lineup if they're still going to give up like 10 offensive rebounds to Patrick Beverley and Montrezl Harrell, with also the added benefit of 10 turnovers from dicking around with passes at the 3 point line.
Did not like that literally 50% of shots taken were three pointers. They have no match for us inside. Wtf
Rondo has been so bad. I'm hoping and wishing Collison comes. He was a target for free agency until he decided to retire. Would be amazing if he ended up on the team after all
I'm still team sell high on Kuzma and get a secondary ball handler that can create his own offense without needing Lebron to facilitate everything.
Who do you suggest that would match kuzmas salary? I'm not necessarily team kuzma but this part of the conversation is never really expanded on when the trade talks happen amongst fans
thats the tough part, it couldn't be just Kuzma, they'd have to throw guys in to match salaries. As much as i'd typically blow off the concept of team chemistry, this team really does appear to have great chemistry. The trade would have to be a no brainer. If they can just sign Collison and play Rondo less I think that will be just as good as half the trades they might be able to make. Consider that no teams in the league like dealing with the Lakers straight up, there's always outside pressure from the other owners to not "give in"
I don't pay as much attention to salary and potential trades as much as I used to but I think it'd probably need to at least be a 3 team deal since KCP is about the only other somewhat large salary of a guy you can send out. If its just a 2 team salary match you'd pretty much have to settle for guys that aren't nearly as valuable as Kuzma like Bogdan or Covington. But I don't get paid 4 million dollars a year to decide these sort of things.
I mean, not exactly a gold mine of good options when Kuz makes like 2 mil as the primary part of the deal.
The problem is, because they re-signed for another 1 year deal or 2 years with a player option for the second year, KCP, Javale and Rondo all have a no trade protection contract. So they'd have to approve of the team they're traded to. So that leaves very little options except a straight up deal. The best option is signing Collison. Would have to drop 1 of Daniels, Quinn or Dudley. Probably not Dudley as he's beloved in the locker room.
don't really know what to say guys but even though you're all strangers i've always enjoyed sharing these Laker games with you this has me pretty fucked up
Literally my best childhood memories growing up were watching Kobe with my dad. Shit is fucked up man...
The three peat happened during my formative years and nothing will ever replicate the joy in sports that he gave me. An all time legend and just a fucking tragic end, I am crying right now and can't even believe that the news is true
I was in school at USC during the back to back titles with Gasol, I went to a bunch of games during that era, that team will always be my favorite in any sport
I’m in a daze. He was traded to the Lakers when I was 15. Absolutely loved him during high school and college. Was a constant in my life until his retirement. Saw him around Newport a few times. Just strange. I was texting with friends at the end of last year how cool it was to see him with his daughter at games and Bron going crazy at Bronny’s games. I hope the Clipppers don’t cover his jersey the rest of the season on the wall.
Just... fuck man. I haven’t been able to get my mind off this all day. No celebrity death has fucked me up like this before. I was 8 years old in 2000. I can’t even begin to describe how it felt to experience the Kobe/Shaw dynasty just as I was getting into sports both as a fan and player. First jersey my dad ever bought me was a number #8 Kobe jersey. R.I.P to him, Gianna, and everyone else who lost their lives.
This has me so fucked up. He was an inspiration and I'm going to miss whatever else he was going to bless the world with.
I don't even know what to say. I still can't believe this. They keep saying "the death of Kobe Bryant" on TV. And it makes no sense because it seems so surreal right now. Really really tough, I can't put into words
