shit. i know the visibility was really bad so i am guessing the pilot just didn’t know where he was? think one second they are having a great time and next second it’s all over. life is a bitch
this is what I’ve been thinking. Ran in those hills this morning at 830 just a bit east of there and couldn’t see that far in front of me
This is from the LA Times: Jerry Kocharian was standing outside the Church in the Canyon drinking coffee when he heard a helicopter that was flying unusually low and struggling. “It [didn’t] sound right and it was real low. I saw it falling and spluttering. But it was hard to make out as it was so foggy,” Kocharian said. The helicopter vanished into a cloud of fog and then there was a boom. “There was a big fireball,” he said. “No one could survive that.”
Eye witness accounts don't mean anything in aviation. Especially with helicopters. Most people give extremely unreliable testimony because they don't really understand what they're hearing or seeing. They would have been low just because of how bad the visibility was. They were flying by visual flight rules and not instruments (meaning the pilot was not permitted to carry out flight if they could not see the ground).
i wonder if there's going to be an effort to make Kobe's silhouette the logo. feels like that's a good way to honor his basketball legacy and the fadeaway jumper is way cooler than jerry west dribbling anyways. Jerry West has been the logo for 50 years and i think he's said he doesn't want it anymore, anyways.
would be more of a business/marketing decision either way. Tough to change the logo, it’s very iconic and recognizable in emerging markets (I.e. China)
She has doubled down and is crying about the replies she has gotten. She is also making it very clear SHE DIDN’T WRITE THE ARTICLE, as if that has anything to do with decision to post that today.
I was lucky enough to attend a private Team USA practice at the Beijing Olympics. I got pictures with all the players except LeBron and Kobe. Kobe was about to take a picture with me when Vanessa came out with his daughter(s) and a birthday cake. They were celebrating his birthday. He apologized and told me he’d be right back. I never got the picture. I really, really wish I got the picture.
businesses rebrand all the time. if you keep the colors, keep the silhouette style, etc. i'm sure it's not a big deal. besides, china doesn't know who jerry west is but they love kobe. Jordan has a billion dollar company based on a logo of his silhouette, which probably complicated things. he also didn't tragically die. i guess we'll see what happens but i could see the logo changing and it being Kobe as the image.
I didn’t even write the story, I just reposted it. ya lady, the article is fine, it is worth discussing and was years ago, but reposting it on the day of his death is a POS move
Impractical because you would be fighting for stability and then introducing another variable into the equation as the fuel moves throughout the plane causing more instability
Hey guys remember him in his totality...just speaking the truth. RIP his 13 year old girl and the other half dozen people in the aircraft.
There are very few times that this is true... but she deserves all of the vile internet hatred she’s getting and will get.
businesses do rebrand, yes, but it’s most certainly a “big deal” especially when talking about a business the size and scope of the NBA. I’m not disagreeing with you and Kobe would be a great choice. Give me his turn around fade.
She had one showing all her messages and saying “hard to see what’s accomplished with messages like these”. Ok... what were you accomplishing by posting a 4 yr old article hours after he and his child died tragically?? Go fuck yourself
You seem to be pretty well-versed regarding helicopters. I don’t know anything about helicopter aerodynamics, but was wondering if the fireball is more lethal than the impact of a crash.
