Open container of vodka and admitted he would fail a drug test if administered. This is why we can't have nice things. https://www.tmz.com/2020/01/27/kareem-hunt-speeding-arrest-marijuana-body-dash-cam-video/
Series of Tweets from Charles Robinson Charles Robinson @CharlesRobinson 1. From what I understand, the #Browns offered the GM position to Berry late last week and the two sides went to work on the contract. The 5-year deal dialing in the same length as HC Kevin Stefanski was of chief importance to Cleveland - making sure the two were tied together. 2. I've been told by a #Browns team source that even before #Vikings exec George Paton pulled out of the process, it was essentially unanimous inside the building that Berry was the right choice for this job and situation. That said, Paton definitely impressed in his interviews. 3. About Berry & Stefanksi: I spoke to multiple sources around the league who told me that Berry did a significant amount of the leg work for the #Browns on Stefanski last year and was a driving force in his candidacy in 2019. Berry is a BIG believer in Stefanski, which is huge. 4. Interesting about Berry: He has a varying swath of #NFL personnel men who are believers in him. Bill Polian, Tom Telesco, Howie Roseman, Scott Pioli, Ryan Grigson, Paul DePodesta, etc. It's an interesting group because his supporters are not clones of each other whatsoever. 5. With Berry in the fold, #Browns will focus on this current roster, free agency and the draft, then turn toward shaping the personnel staff as the org moves ahead. I do think it's possible that Eliot Wolf and Alonzo Highsmith could remain if their role makes sense going forward 6. As for the current #Browns roster under Berry, I doubt he's going to arbitrarily flush talent. I wouldn't expect some huge retooling. That said, I'd bet he and Stefanski will spend ample time shaping up their shared culture goal. There are bound to be some guys who won't fit. 7. A benefit for the #Browns with Berry: he spent seven years in scouting with the #Colts , but he has ample experience doing contracts and in pro personnel. He's going to bring strengths that cut across the entire organization. That's going to help keep everyone on the same page.
He's been through a lot. I'm glad he's learning from his mistakes. Will be interesting to see how the new staff handles this.
Unfortunately I think we'd have to trade up to get him but I'd be willing to do so because he's a beast
sure, but based off some mocks, there are many viable options: Athletic (linked) 4. Wills 8. Wirfs 10. Thomas 11. Becton 25. Wilson 29. Jackson ESPN (linked) 8. Thomas 10. Becton 11. Wills 14. Wirfs 25. Jones This is all before the combine and pro-days etc, where many will rise and fall. With good scouting and finding good value, we can get one we want, or heck even trade down for more assets and still get good OL help.
If it ain't Wills or Wirfs I don't want them at 10. If you're gonna stay at 10 go defense. Simmons, Kinlaw, Brown, Epenesa etc
if you look back at every year of the draft, someone 'falls' because teams made WILD selections early. Happens every. single. year. there will be someone fantastic there at 10, to either select, or find someone else to jump up and take them and give us more draft selections for later. I would love to see us trade down a bit and get some good added picks to play with and still get OL help in 1st round. (unless one of the can't miss guys falls to us somehow) best case scenario is something like 4 QB's go in the top 10, and you're now picking from a top 6 position player.
Best case scenario is actually the top 9 teams all let their time expire without putting in a pick and the Browns get their choice of every player in the draft without having to give up anything.
I think Burrow, Young, Okudah, Herbert and Tua are definitely going before 10. Need to root for Brown, Jeudy, Thomas, Kinlaw and Simmons to go up there too
it's not as big of a need as OT, but I would be thrilled with simmons. he's a freak, and we still need help on defense
Much like with Al Lerner, I just wish we had provided him something better to watch while he was alive
I think the league year starts March 5th or something like that, so shortly thereafter. I haven’t looked- who are some big free agents out there?
I know Bulaga is a free agent. I think there's a few decent safeties too Apparently Brandon Scherff is a FA too
SF's Jimmie Ward is an UFA. I would assume he is a FA we go after at safety. Especially with Woods's familiarity with him. Would be a great addition; but he will be pretty expensive. As far as OT's go, Conklin & Bulaga would be guys I throw serious money at for LT. I'm not interested in trying to bring a rookie along in that spot.
Well, everybody is talking about drafting a RT (Willis, Wirfs) and moving them to LT for the first time ever...which would have an even less chance of success. I would much rather have a proven talent with NFL experience make the move.
We have ~$49m in cap space. Top available Tackles- Anthony Costonzo, Bryan Bulaga, Marcus Gilbert, Jack Conklin, Daryl Williams. These guys will run $10-$15m per year.
I don't know if I agree with that. Anyway I'd rather sign Bulaga for a cheaper and shorter deal than pay out the nose for Conklin
2nd rounder (#41 overall) to Washington for Trent Williams, pending a 4-year ~$60m extension? Who says no?
The only problem is by giving up a pick and eating up cap space you're limiting what you can do to supplement the defense. You're also going to have to pay Garrett big money after this year.
Depending on how you structure the deal, you can play with the cap space over 4 years. Your point remains though. I think OT is much more critical than what we need on defense.
Tackle is the certainly the top need. I'd prefer to draft one at 10 and sign Bulaga or Castonzo and try to supplement the defense at 41 and in free agency but who's to say that'll be possible.
Yeah that Trent Richardson trade was great. And basically ignoring the OL and getting Andrew Luck killed was good, too.
Harris is a bit confusing but thank God Carrie is gone. I wouldn't be surprised if we used one of the 3rds on a TE
