Today sucked but the rest of the season was fun, we overachieved and no one had us making it this far. We are a few pieces short from having a legit shot at a SB hopefully we address those at the draft.
Our D got embarrassed tonight. How many times have we drafted D talent only to be a bust in the last decade? Jimmy threw it EIGHT times. 8. Pettine shit the bed again, just like our last decade of D coordinators. Capers 2.0
I'm really struggling with this too. I used to think McCarthy was better when the offense was limited by injury because it forced him to call a more creative and disciplined gameplan. Obviously, Adams is the focus of the offense deservedly so, but so much of the creativity went away when he came back.
I think what's most disappointing is to see the defense play so poorly given how much better they were this season. And compounding it further, they were the main culprit in Green Bays downfall the last few years of McCarthy as well.
Giving up 37 points when the opposing QB throws 8(?) passes at the NFL level should be grounds for immediate dismissal.
Saw that. Defenders on Twitter say he's the scapegoat for a lack of talent. I would counter that MVS and Allison played far too much.
I wonder if Keith Williams gets a look for WR’s. Was friends with him when he was here at Nebraska and spent time with Davante Adams, Ryan Grant, and James Jones when they were in Lincoln in the offseason to train. He trained Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins this off-season so I can’t imagine his stock getting any higher. He was getting calls from pro teams when he was at Nebraska as well.
Would love to see three weapons on offense added using premium-ish assets in the off-season. Robby Anderson and Henry/Ebron/Hooper plus a draft pick in the top 2 rounds would work. That would free us up in round one for BPA. A D lineman, MLB, or OT would all be reasonable picks in round one too.
Will be interesting with all these WR's crushing it at the combine to see how this plays out. I would have no problem waiting til round 2 is supply/demand pushes guys down. Ideally a vet is still added to the mix in that scenario. DL, OT, and LB are still every bit as much of a need as WR. I have to think Cobb is sticking in Dallas because McCarthy loves him, but if he could be had for cheap it would make sense in the slot. Davante, rookie, Cobb, Lazard, EQ could work for the offense.
I would not be on board with a lot of this. I don't think Hooper is worth 8 figures, Kwiatkowski is a one dimensional player, and I don't think Claypool lasts to the end of the 3rd. I am not opposed to an OT in the first round. Oh, and James Morgan is going to end up going day 2. If we were to get one high end free agent, I would prefer Liddleton or Schobert I think.
Heading up the packers in tmb mock draft since I’m stuck at home with nothing to do. Will be bouncing ideas off this thread. What are the biggest needs you guys see.
