Last fall I was buying some shit at Hot Topic for my kids and it turned out that I could get another t-shirt for free, so I chose a black Iron Maiden shirt for myself because I liked their artwork back in the 1980's. Wore it to the gym, and some beefy guy wants to talk Iron Maiden with me, their latest tour (fuck, they're still touring?!?) and I had to admit that other than Run to the Hills I couldn't recognize an Iron Maiden song if my life depended on it. He looked very disappointed as he walked away
Has absolutely nothing to do with "being edgy". Both were racist assholes that a large segment of the US population likes to prop up as having "American Values" and being "Good guys". Neither is true.
