You mean condensate buildup around the light on the shower side (aka the warm air meets the cool air, forms mold, and then works it’s way out and up)? They have humidity problems below so I’m thinking that’s a factor. They also had mold growing just outside each of their HVAC registers.
Backsplash is in. Need some undercabinet lighting installed because the granite looks more cream than white.
In general or in the picture? There’s no power yet, so the picture is just with whatever natural light was coming through. The tops are also covered in dust and grime, so I’m sure things will look differently once everything is clean and ready to go.
Anyone have any alternatives to manufacturer branded refrigerator water filters? Feel like $49 for the GE XWF is a rip off. there are plenty of sub-$15 options on amazon but have no clue on whether any of these alt brands do anything worthwhile or will instead supply my water with lots of extra mercury etc
I would guess that the generic filters would work fine, assuming the manufacturing wasnt shit. I don't think fridge filters do that much to begin with honestly. We have our fridge behind a reverse osmosis system. https://www.consumerreports.org/ref...placement-water-filter-for-your-refrigerator/
Not committed to going cheap on this (to your point), just on matter of principle, when I searched it on amazon saw every generic alternative was ~30% of the cost of GE, which had me feeling like I was being ripped off. from there I just had no concept of which generic brands might be legit, if anyone had any experience or knowledge to share Will check out this alternative though. Thx Imurhuckleberry edit: that article is illuminating my precise fear, thx for sharing
Electricians (if we’ve got any on here): It appears that I’ve got a double pole breaker that is double tapped for my dryer and AC. Panel is full. Can I put two tandem breakers into the same spot to create separate circuits? Or maybe more correctly (maybe), move four singles to two tandem 120 to create room for an additional double pole?
Normally I’d ageee, but this one is about as simple as can be for us. We don’t live there, don’t have to move, don’t have deal with anything other than signing docs, basically.
HOAs are a pain in the ass but they serve a purpose. Enjoy the purple house or car on blocks next to you.
You know, most of my neighborhood is 47+ and they all act like it. I do walk my dog around the block off the leash every day...yolo
I find this post to be aggressive and offensive to non HOA homeowners. I have reported it to the mods.
Which part? I just did some on a few sections of my house that didn't have them. Thought it was pretty straight forward other than one time I couldn't get an elbow to fit together.
Just did the inspection yesterday and no major issues. Looking like we'll be closing a month from tomorrow.
It was just a 24' straight shot but I was dealing with 10' aluminum pieces from Home Depot that I had to cut and join together. I found that the aluminum end caps and joint peices were easier to fit if I threw them in the oven at 250 for a few minutes.
Walked through the house today and found remnants of a fiesta in a bathroom. Perhaps this explains the sloppy grouting.
