I havent noticed a huge difference between cable/sat vs a streaming service. But NF is definitely a better picture because of how movies and TV are 'filmed' vs live events.
streaming is flexible and can innovate much faster than wired cable, but with that said there is a lot of headroom on the "picture quality" side from streaming providers. They are generally investing in raw resolution, but higher FPS, better bitrate, multi-angle/PIP have seen boosts in the past few years for certain providers/platforms.
It still won't be enough to keep me if I can't watch MLB but that should come with a pretty significant price decrease. It won't.
Doesn't really affect me but still sucks. Regardless, I'm guessing they'll continue to work on negotiations and get them back eventually.
Yeah I think so too. Surely they realize there will be a mass exodus without regional sports coverage.
It murders them a lot of places I would believe. Baseball, hockey, basketball are aired on the regional fox most places. Hell, the YES network alone might be a dent in their subscribers.
Switched from Sling to YTTV for the regional Fox channels. Will now be going back to Sling because it's $15 cheaper and equivalent level of service.
Baseball starting up, and NBA and NHL playoffs right around the corner, this is just a pure money grab for Sinclair. Bastards
Think I'm gonna ride it out for a bit and just use my mom's dtv login to watch those channels online when needed, my cloud's too stocked to just say goodbye
Well I was literally about to dump Hulu live for Youtube this weekend when I had a few minutes to sign up. Not happening now. Rays season starting and Lightning playoff run, I need sun sports
Hulu was my least favorite of the four I tried. But now, it's the only option. I may just say fuck it and go back to cable.
If YTTV is willing to incur the ill will of going through with this, I wouldn't expect them to get the RSNs back until next season at the earliest.
Kind of where I'm at. The first SKC game is Saturday. They have until then to get it resolved, otherwise, off to Hulu I go.
I know MLB is not directly involved in this decision but they just continue to further alienate viewers at a time when their average fan is going to die of old age in 10 yrs.
Hulu live seems to blow asshole. $14 extra clams a month to fast forward through commercials? i never watch sports live so I don’t need to watch em. I’m all sour.
girlfriend has Hulu Live & it drives me nuts compared to YTTV because it’s not intuitive at all...not sure if I’ll just get her to login to her account on my Apple TV so I can watch Fox Sports SW or what I’m gonna do, but I really don’t want to have to switch from YTTV.
Welp, legal cord-cutting was nice while it lasted. No chance I'm paying extra to fast forward through DVR content or entering into a 2 year contract with cable/satellite to pay $100/mo for a service i will only use 20% of. I think I'll take the $50/mo I was spending on YTTV and buy a few hard drives and just start torrencing the shows I watch, and use illegal streams for live sports. MLB and NHL could really make a killing right now selling their mlb.tv and nhl.tv services if they'd just lift the stupid ass blackouts. Find a way to use location to still push local ads. Youtube and Hulu were able to figure this out, surely MLB can. I'd gladly pay the $125 for the year to watch all the Rangers games and say goodbye to the streaming platforms and the 80% of the channels I never watch. Torrencing shows is easy... illegally streaming live sports can be tough.
It's weird because sometimes you can fast forward and sometimes you can't. There's absolutely no reason to have a DVR with Hulu though as you get everything you normally do with Hulu. I guess maybe if you were DVR a live sports game is the only thing I can think of
Of the "major" ones...it has to be baseball followed closely by golf. It feels like those two are moving in opposite directions though.
i would just use my parents login for the fox sports app but unless something has changed drastically in the last couple years, that app is flaming garbage
