You don’t have to sell to move them to a different broker. Your new broker will handle the transfer and all your positions will be the same as they were in Robinhood (takes a week or so though). Here’s a referral link to Schwab if anyone wants it: https://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/nn/refer-prospect.html?refrid=REFERGG48Z9TK
When I've previously tried to transfer brokerage accounts, it was a pain in the ass because the old broker dragged its feet. I assumed Robin Hood, out of incompetence or due to being overwhelmed with transfer requests, would be even worse. That's the only reason I was going to liquidate, withdrawal, and deposit. But I'll give the transfer a shot. Thanks! Houndster & texasraider
Should only take a couple days. If there’s anything you might have to sell this week, either sell now or keep it in robinhood
Robin Hood still fucking up. Couldn't get my option trade to go through at $12.45 due to server error. Had to log out and log in multiple times. Finally sold at $10.35. At that point, I was just glad to get it off my hands and not be stuck with it during another RH fuck up session.
I thought I read speculation of 50bps cut ASAP and another 25bps by end of year depending on fall out?
Got in to SPXS this morning before the cut announcement. I assumed I would have to sell at a loss but now it's up 2%. At least a good hedge for the rest of my 401k.
I’d imagine him asking for further rate cuts didn’t help initial confidence this mornings cuts would work.
Best firm for Traditional IRA? I have been with my BIL at Edward Jones but might use this opportunity to finally pull the trigger.
Vanguard, Fidelity, Schwab. Can't go wrong with either. I'm on the first two and like Fidelity's website better. Many people like Schwab.
I was forced to meet with a guy who wanted to take over orphan wells and use a system to pump water downhole where the heat of the earth would cause the water to boil thereby powering steam generators. That's my experience with geothermal energy
Small sample size but I looked at the worst 5 days of the S&P by % in each of the last four years (16-19). In eighteen of those twenty occurrences there is a top 10 gaining day for that year within 45 days of those worst days. And in eleven of those eighteen occurrences, the bounce back was 6 days or less. Make sure the dead cat bounce is complete before you sell anything.
dow down 425 after 50bp rate cut and tesla is up 3% based on some hippie elon worshiper saying it's going to 1,000. this is beginning to piss me off
i have 3/6 750s and 700s. i'm underwater on the 700s i bought last friday. need a down day tomorrow to have a chance of cashing out even
buy really every index being down today after that rate cut makes me think tomorrow may be a fucking bloodbath
Yeah, today's pretty much a sideways day. I'm with you in thinking tomorrow might be a down day. If I had access to calls, I'd look at some for SPXS. Will just have to look at buying more. Maybe TVIX.
remember at 9:30 when the fed announced a rate cut and the dow jumped up 500 points to +250 in nanoseconds. that sure does seem like a long time ago
I bought some mutual fund shares yesterday, and it closed like +4% from when I placed the order. So today’s drop was expected. I apologize guys.
also, for those wondering about transferring brokerage accounts to Schwab, i just transferred my fiancee's etrade account to our joint schwab account and it was easy as f.
Whenever changing brokerages, make sure to authorize the new company to “pull” the funds from the old instead of trying to “push” them yourself. Makes it so much easier, from what I’ve read.
yeah i went through schwab and gave them the info for the etrade account i wanted to move. sounds like it will be there next week at some point
it's more difficult for robinhood to schwab. It's not a set up institution. You have to print fill out and sign then upload and wait, not the quick electronic form like for others
