Wonder if I'll get to start working remotely? Aside from the instruction portion some of my coworkers do (which has to be done in-person to meet the medical certification requirements), all of our work is hosted in the cloud.
Public fear and mass self-quarantines and social isolation will be the only thing to flatten the curve and save us. My COVID task force calls are terrifying btw as I'm listening to it and posting at the same time #professional. Our internal projections which I am not at liberty to discuss are horrifying for worst cases scenarios. We have to slow it down even if mass spread is inevitable.
Do you think we can take some solace in the fact that the virus has been here for weeks and, for now, we're not seeing spikes in mortalities across the country?
Our work just sent an email that take your child to work day has been cancelled. A shame really, I love laughing at those suckers with kids.
He’ll be looking for a job soon. That is, if the WH team doesn’t yet have their PR strategy in place to make this a win for them.
I don't know how anyone can type this unironically and not feel like the definition of the stereotypical American entitled dickwad.
I wouldn't take much solace until we start getting some damn public health data. We're still Johnny Manziel "what's going on?"
If everyone is quarantined and is working, playing, and streaming from home, ISPs are going to be severely taxed. Many people's only communication with the outside world could crash, or be sporadically available.
We're literally looking at exponential growth scenarios and there is basically no way to cut off contact between infected and non-infected persons. I'd be very very surprised if we didnt have tens of millions of cases and over a hundred thousand deaths in this country by the time the election happens. It's basically our best chance at getting trump out now fwiw
What is anyone here doing that’s on immune suppressants? I’m basically isolating myself for weeks but curious how others are dealing with this. Have an appointment with my rheumatologist next week don’t really want to go in to a Dr office right now.
I spent the better part of my morning arguing with the “it’s no big deal just wash your hands and turn off the news” chuds on my home site and now my blood pressure is elevated
Controlled hypertension person checking in here. Scary stuff but at least I don’t have any of the other underlying issues...
They booked me this morning (need a refill and haven’t been lately) and seemed to have no reservations about it. That was shocking to me but a lot of folks seem bought into FOX news talking points down here.
so basically the NY metro area has 70 tests available. amazing! Is this punishment for being a sanctuary city? I am so confused by this. I know we were told they can produce 400K tests per day. Why are they not getting them?
It's entirely reasonable to call and see if there's an electronic or phone option for a routine follow-up. They should be looking into that, given their patient population
i am getting pretty worried about this with my gf. she is a teacher and nc is absurd in the fact that she doesnt have sick days (has to build them up but when you're sick you lose them almost immediately plus she would have to pay for her own sub) so she can't just not go to work. also the fact that she has to go to the hospital every afternoon for treatment which isnt ideal either as far as quarantine. really wish they would cancel school because this is starting to stress me out
joke's gonna be on you because high blood pressure = higher risk so while those chuds are still yelling fake news, you'll be the one with the coronavirus
Third case was guy in 30s in CC. No deets on case #4 specifics. Sure don't like hearing that a guy in his 30s in MN is in critical condition though :mostcasesaremildmostcasesaremildmostcasesaremildmostcasesaremild:
Tell her to wash her hands as often as she can. I feel like we aren't far from schools being cancelled
