I’ve been caught up/live with CR since around C1E~70. I started watching it randomly years ago after I stumbled on it on twitch
Anyone ever played Horrified? Have a coworker who is a big Magic guy kept trying to get me to play but I was resistant to the idea. He finally compromised and brought that instead. Now we play every Friday at lunch...fun collaborative game.

board game people, would it be a mistake to get any of these games? Pandemic Caper Carcassonne ticket to ride generally gonna be doing 2 player, but may do 3 to 4 players.
We got pandemic and ticket to Ride Europe a few days ago. Have played one game of each, enjoyed both fwiw
Also, purchased Marvel Crisis Protocol last week as my lady saw it and was intrigued. Putting the miniatures together has been fun, now just need to learn how to paint.
I own all of them but Caper and love them all. All are just fine for 2 players but in my opinion are better with 3. Pandemic is fine with 2 because you can simulate a third as well.
Ticket to Ride is great. Pandemic is the gold standard for co-op games, though it's not my personal favorite. Carcassone is meh. Caper I don't know. Look into Splendor -- it's good for 2, but also plays well with 3 to 4. Also, it's worth noting... You can't really play with 2, but "For Sale" is by far my most played game. I have to travel size version which is the size as a deck of cards, and I love it.
If you've never played them, I'd recommend getting them on your phone first. All of those (not sure about Caper), including Splendor have phone versions of the game. Carcassone is fine, but to me, just not quite as fun as some of the other options out there. (Pandemic's similar game is called "Plague, Inc" -- difference is that you're the virus vs the scientists)
Pandemic made me think co-op games may not be for me. My brother and I both try to take charge and it doesn’t work I also tried it on my phone and I’m about on par with Trump for stopping a pandemic
On a bundle that was posted a while back I got Ticket to Ride, Codenames and Pandemic. Ticket to Ride is really fun. Codenames is enjoyable but whoever gets paired with my one daughter loses every time. She is in all AP classes in school but an absolute door mat when it comes to strategy and competitiveness. Literally been studying how to play Pandemic during the week and have it set up on the table to play. Going to probably look at grabbing a few more games that were recommended in here as well. I have also planned a Tournament of Champions in the house for this upcoming 12 weeks. Play all the board games and card games and we will have a running tally. We all know who is going to come in last.
Pandemic is fun, works at 2p as well. My wife and I played Legacy S1, and it was great - it is co-op so it does have some risk of quarterbacking, and one person seeing the path to victory and just driving everyone there. If you can deal with that, it's a lot of fun. Ticket to ride and Carcassone are also great- and solid at 2p.
If you're looking for 2 player games, here are some solid ones: Card games: Lost Cities, Fox in the Forest, The Mind Seven Wonders Duel Azul (still better with more people) Ticket to Ride New York - there are a few other smaller editions, they can all be played in about 20-30 minutes. The regular editions are too big for 2 players imo Also not a big fan of cooperative games but we now play them where you are not allowed to speak during the other person's turn, it really helps cut down on the quarterbacking.
thanks for all your feeback. Will aim for pandemic and ticket to ride (smaller version) g/f also wants Life and backgammon #classics
Carcassonne is great. I really enjoy it. It’s fine for 2 players but gets a lot better with 3. I’d recommend Guillotine. It’s fantastic for 2 and a totally different game for 3 or more.
Some other good 2p games from my collection to look at while everyone is stuck inside... 7 Wonders Duel Azul Wingspan - plays ok at 2p Spirit Island Viticulture - plays ok at 2p Chronicles of Crime Villanous Forbidden Island / Desert Suburbia
Here's my cart for now and other recommendations or items to stay clear from? For Sale Scythe Catan Santorini Carcassonne Guillotine Really sucks because I was selling some shit on LetGo a few months ago. There are a ton of people selling games on there for dirt cheap. Can't be doing that now obviously. Other board games that we like and play. Ticket to Ride Codenames Parcheesi (Far and away the game we've played the most, highly underrated, best with four players IMO) Chinese checkers (Meh) Chess (Only have one opponent in the house) Azul was another game I forgot to mention, that one is fun as well. For some reason it's an outside game for us, I have no clue why. Uno Scrabble All the other kids games are retired thankfully.
I would grab another scrabble board for just the tiles and play speed scrabble. It’s super fun for all ages and any number of players.
also Hive is ultimate 2 player game, I left it off because I assume all of you already have it and play it all the time Also this website is good to try out games, I'm guessing it will get an uptick in users now. www.boardgamearena.com
Its a faster, simpler version of chess. People I know that play are obsessed. My girlfriend isn't very good at it and gets angry if she loses to many times in a row or we would like be playing it every night.
It’s amazing and I think they stopped production in America. Look around and you can find it. I think you can get a copy from the German manufacturer
practice on board game arena until it comes. that helps you learn legal/illegal moves and also the best way to get better at the game is to get your ass kicked by good players and watch their strategy
Anyone own Castles of Burgundy Anniversary edition. Getting it from my local board game shop and need tips because my wife is some kind of board games savant and I hate it.
Literally on the phone with my co-worker and I told him I watched two youtube videos on set and then a play through. Pretty sure I am ready for the first game but holy fuck.
Scythe is one of my favorite games, you can download it on steam and play a game in about 30 minutes - it's a great way to learn the game quicker. It seems like a lot but once you play it once it'll make sense. Depends on your player count, it's not great at 2. 4-5 are best imo. I don't like Catan, but it's a great game for friends just hanging out. Santorini is another one I really like, but no one ever wants to play it, they have an app on iOS which is fun, and again a good way to learn the game. Carcassone - same, it's fun, simple, has an app. Out of print- but its a ton of fun, it seems like a lot when you set it up the first time but it's pretty simple once you make it around the board once.
Does anyone play any games on tabletop simulator? I just got it on steam and maybe a good way to plays some games on quarantine
I DM’d a slightly simplified DnD game with my kids and they thought it was the greatest thing ever. Exploding kittens is also fun 2-5players. Pandemic is not my favorite. Carcassone is fun. Ticket to ride is great
Session 1 of an ongoing Dumps and Dragons campaign for any interested TMB’ers since we’re all social distancing. You are free to jump in. I ran a quick 1.5-2 hour mostly battle session with everyone level 1. If anyone wanted to jump in at level 2 they’d be welcome to.
We have a baby back bitch bard, a dragon born fighter, an oversized Paladin, and a stoner dwarf ranger FYI
I may be interested, when do y'all do this? And would I need any prior knowledge of anything, or any programs to run anything?
