No, but I’m wondering if the same thing happened to them. We’re 75 miles away and it was a Piedmont hospital. Everybody city around has a few Piedmonts it seems

Hello, I just got 150k free today for stupid shit to play stupid games!

 

Buy a bunch of S&P calls right now and sell them around 10am tomorrow.

 

I’d be interested to know some honest ideas for what to do with an extra 10-15k. I was actually plant to put it in the market at the start of 2020 and never got around to it...wound up being fortuitous.

 

Apparently you buy puts and make your entire yearly salary in hours. Pretty simple right

I'm still waiting on TD to clear deposited funds for options trading, 3 days later. The wait time to call them is currently 2 hours...and they don't have an option to receive a callback(wtf?)

I’m starting to get the feeling we’re about to hit the point in this thread where people start losing on options bets. Hope not for everyone’s sake.

 

My GF works there, she said the combo of tax season + all this other crazy shit, it’s just chaos. She’s been working like 50-60 hours a week the last month.

I think if you can get your bank to provide verifications of funds “on a letterhead” you can probably send it into TD and speed it up. Again who knows with how slammed they are right now.

 

This guy went 8x leverage on already triple leveraged funds. Turned $400,000 into -$1.5 million. From him:

Initial deposit was $400k. I'm on portfolio margin and UPRO had a 36% maintenance margin requirement (initial is the same.) TMF had a 24% maintenance margin requirement (initial is also the same.) TDA applied a bond-stock margin maintenance reduction credit of 90%, so multiply maintenance by .10. So UPRO maint was down to 3.6%, TMF 2.4%.

I was a complete dumbass and levered the portfolio up 8x, borrowing $2.8 million on my $400k deposit.

Apparently since I used box spreads to finance it TDA saw no margin loan and left the account alone. I got a 5 day portfolio margin call when it was red and I didn't have $125k equity, but whoever I got in risk management didn't realize what I was doing and gave me 5 days to slide. Of course I didn't have extra funds to wire in so I just let it sit.

 

Someone itt mentioned TD could contact the bank directly to verify funds, but you have to get through to them first to request that.

Future deposits will be made in person(drive-thru) as ACH, so they're immediate.
