Was in Jacksonville this past weekend. Played both courses at the World Golf Village - Slammer and Squire and King & Bear. They were both fun and in decent shape. On sunday we played Stadium Course at Sawgrass which was a legit bucket list item. A week after the Players was supposed to go, no foot traffic, etc. The course was pristine, the rough thicker than hell. \ I played out of my mind though. I hit 13 fairways, almost all with driver (we played a tee further back than I probably should have). One of the best experiences of my life. I flushed my first ball on 17 clear over the back of the green, clubed down and landed to 15 feet. 2 putt for double. Pics incoming
They weren't bad, and they are decently highly rated in terms of public courses available in Florida. Besides TPC, the courses you used to be able to get on in Jax are now private or resort only.
The course I played yesterday and will play tonight put a piece of pvc pipe. I texted the GM of the place saying they should keep it permanently.
Not Augusta National. It’s the course next door that just sold the land to expand 13 at Augusta National for millions and millions.
Augusta Cancelled the Drive, Chip and Putt for 2020. But said anyone that had tickets to it will get tickets for next year. Lil Bishop should be up for it next year which is nice.
would think PGA would want to take advantage of warmer September/October with Harding Park rather than aggressive timeline in July.
not sure about total cost but ANGC for sure paid to redo at least three holes of their course in order to get the land from the #13 expansion. That was at the same time they were redoing Champions Retreat for the women's amateur.
I loved the deep dive on Greg Norman that NLU did although Icarito left a lot to be desired as the lead research guy.
Would be great if Youngscap had them up to the Sandhills or any other place that will never host a PGA event for that matter
Watching Big Break II and its hilarious to rewatch a younger, skinnier Kip go through these challenges. He and DD will be live tweeting the final match later
