I was moved off of my project site two weeks ago and my company made me go our home office to work. Also in La Porte, TX. They do have a lot of the admin people in the building working from home so it makes no sense why our project team got sent here. We are still billable to the customer and they care or know where we are working.
Why the need to update everyone so many times? I’m gonna get shamed for saying this, but you seem like a look at me person. Quit your job if they’re treating you/your family shitty. If you wear a mask and people give you shit, who the fuck cares. Do what’s good for your family, who cares what they say. Go spend time with your kid(s).
Florida has done a horrible job testing and results outside of hospitals are taking 10-14 days to get results so we are very far behind on reporting. They have also lost results and some people just gave up getting tested because of the lack of access/experiences of others getting tested. I can’t say that we are alone in having these issues but it seems to be as bad/worse in Florida than anywhere else that has a major number of cases at this point.
I keep hoping people just stay the course. It’s the same as the beginning, but in reverse. To start, you stay vague on death statistics because if most people realize it likely won’t kill them, they go about their day because humans in general, are inherently self-serving. However, if you push too hard, you have many healthy younger people unrealistically fearing that they themselves will die. The end result is good because ultimately, you get the people to listen. On the flip side, when it’s starting to get “better” you have to be careful with how quickly that is rolled out. You want people to have some relief, you want people to feel like there is an end and it’s all worth it, but you can’t make it too rosy because total goons will just drop all caution and go right back to normal. Everyone just stay the course.
Wish Dabo would just shut up. I have no problem with his optimistic outlook because frankly thats just who he is. The problem is he says too much. Dont tell people you took a trip 2 weeks ago and follow that up with another one this coming weekend.
I can speak for parts of South Florida and we’re at about 40% of congestion as usual. So some (60%)people are listening, but the other 40 aren’t. On a positive note. I oversee a bunch of mechanics , aka hardcore trump voters and they shamed me for not having a mask last week. They’re also old, overweight smokers so I avoid even really seeing them, let alone speaking to them within 10’
