Because they didn't put in battlegrounds when they implemented the honor system, or do anything to promote balanced servers, many pvp servers are now dominated by roving horde death squads. Alliance characters solo farming endgame zones are basically wearing a giant neon "murder and corpse camp me" sign. There are multiple servers at 70/30 H/A population splits or worse. My server is 49/51 and is med pop so I'm unaffected, but it's pretty bad on a lot of servers.
You can't freely transfer anywhere, only to a set few realms, yes. Blizzard fucked this up big time by not restricting server transfers to be faction-specific, i.e. allowing more Horde characters to transfer to a server that's already utterly dominated by Horde. I play Alliance on a pvp server that is about 65-35 Horde and it's been impossible to do anything since Phase 2 launched. I haven't played in almost 2 weeks. Prior to that I had already noticed that the Alliance population on the server was dwindling down either from people quitting or transferring due to roving Horde death squads in every 45+ zone. Need to get into Blackrock Mountain to run UBRS? Better set aside 30+ mins just to get from the flight path into the instance, or forget about it. When Battlegrounds launch next week, Horde on most servers will be subject to massive queue times, which they deserve, but at the same time that leaves them more time to continue roving around high-level zones and killing/corpse camping people 10v1...
Here's a census from Flamelash server today. Good job blizzard lvl 2+ A online players: 151 lvl 2+ H online players: 1468 That is 9% alliance, and 91% horde. Which means there is 9.72 horde for every alliance player. lvl 60 A online players: 49 lvl 60 H online players: 792 That is 6% alliance, and 94% horde. Which means there is 16.16 horde for every alliance player at lvl 60.
Kirtonos. I'm guessing since free transfers are ending that means paid transfers are coming? And I doubt I'll have the chance to choose which server I want to go to.
It's not totally different for a 48-59 horde player. I'm 51 on a horde dominated server but still get ganked all the time trying to level. Just happens less than for alliance. Not sure why anyone thought it was a good idea to give a level 60 credit for killing someone 12 levels lower. Can't do shit against them.
I thought people tryharding the pve was going to be the downfall but this gap between introducing the honor system and having BGs available is so stupid in hindsight, especially with twitch being a thing. All of these streamer assholes are trying to be the first rank 14 and making the higher level zones unplayable is really the only way they can do that right now
Still trudging along. Hit 54 yesterday. Had a max level rogue try and gank me yesterday in Un’Goro. Thought I was an easy target. Was able to pop a few CDs and my critical strikes lined up and I nuked his ass. Felt pretty good until I got gang fucked by a bunch of bugs a few min later.
Get ready to grind. The neck essence system is a great change from Azerite gear but it’s a heck of a grind.
I gave up trying to level, got to 38 and was like f this. Plus, my life schedule is more conducive to the retail version. I’ve been getting my alts to 120 which has been enjoyable.
Been playing this game for a while and finally had a first. Ended up toasting a Demon Hunter in open world PvP twice after he tried to kill me and another player. He followed me to an quest turn in NPC with a Priest that both tried to jump me. A few Horde fellows helped me out and we got them both. He re spawned, I killed him again after he came at me, then then a few moments later, I'm being whispered that I'm a "trash player". MFer logged on or created a Horde character to shit talk me after he got spanked. Had that kid TRIGGERED.
if anybody wants to get rid of an old pc or laptop so i can play wow that would be nice. ty for your time
Retail, alliance stormrage. Doing primarily mythic+. Goal is to get a timed +15 run for each dungeon.
For real though, have a couple retail toons on a horde server and want something different. I started out as ally and miss some of the locales. Also pug pvp seems to be better on ally.
Im leveling my horde rogue now, just hit 115. I want to try classic (I’ve played since launch), but I know I won’t have time for it with 2 kids. LFR is the only way I see the new content
Classic doesn't have dailies, it's entirely at your own pace. I have two kids and a spouse who often works weird hours so I'm single parenting in the evenings. It took me almost 4 months but I dinged 60. Haven't raided at all, but I've done a ton of 5 mans. Got most of my pre bis complete. The other thing that's neat about classic is the majority of players I've interacted with are thirtysomethings with kids and jobs who are just trying to nostalgia. No one has ever had a problem with me saying "brb baby awake" because they deal with it too.
Premade, but you only need 5 people since you’re running dungeons. There’s a LFG where people list their groups and you can join — or create your own group — but it’s not an automated system like dungeon finder or LFR. Mythic+ dungeons are by far the best addition to the game in like five years.
Guys, I can't express how happy I am with this news https://blizzardwatch.com/2020/04/0...ing-rid-reputation-requirements-allied-races/
Yea new leveling system looks dope. I’m already tired of the grind for the cloak in retail. Haven’t signed on in a few weeks and have quit doing my 10’s and 15’s all together.
The cloak grind is tedious even with the nerfs they did a couple of weeks ago. At least I can 5mask it now.
