Bi-annual releases for sports games seen it would do everyone good. Except from a business standpoint. - Have timely updates
Watching some of these Dark Side of the Ring episodes and it just seems JR is lying is ass off. Especially about Bart and Dr Death
I love Dr. Death. One of my favs ever, but he was waaaaaaaaay past his prime when he came into WWE. I do like that he is the only reason that it's not Stone Cold Steve Williams.
I love the old Williams Watts and AJPW stuff. He was never going to connect with American audiences though. Hell, Vince couldn’t make Vader work, though a lot of that was out of spite.
It’s been reported a lot of the contracts people had stopped paying them when they hit their downside. A lot of those guys were actually being kept at home, under contract, no longer collecting paychecks.
Apparently it’s legal. Some guys have demanded the language be removed from their contracts but not everyone has that luxury. Mike Johnson was talking about on audio a few weeks ago. Basically, Revival stopped getting paychecks in like February, and the only way to make money was to work shows, or hold out until the next year of their deal kicked in and the downside payments re started.
Guys the downside these guys make is probably 2-6 times the amount the normal person makes in a year. I have zero sympathy for these guys. You understood what could happen when you agreed to the deal.
Just saw this post on POST Wrestling's board, don't know if it's confirmed anywhere: The talent cuts just happened. Drake Maverick, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Curt Hawkins, EC3, and Lio Rush. More to come. I guess it's confirmed (except Gallows) Gallows wasn’t released according to the Twitter account BREAKING: WWE has come to terms on the release of Drake Maverick (James Curtin), Curt Hawkins (Brian Myers), Karl Anderson (Chad Allegra), EC3 (Michael Hutter) and Lio Rush (Lionel Green).
My project manager is close to a bunch of the WWE talent. Got texts from 2 of them today(1 on that list, 1 not) that they'd been cut.
WWE Producers Billy Kidman, Mike Rotunda, Dave Finlay, Pat Buck, Shawn Daivari,Scott Armstrong, Sarah Stock, Shane Helms and Lance Storm have departed WWE as part of today's cutbacks, PWInsider.com has confirmed. There may be additonal backstage names confirmed as the day progresses.
No it really isn’t. They fully understood the landscape of the business. That WWE was handing out these massive downside numbers. They also knew they weren’t being used on TV and it wasn’t likely to change. Yet they all signed the deals knowing this was highly likely to play out.
im not talking about the Covid issue. I’m speaking about not being used on TV and thus not being used on the tours.
EC3 would probably thrive in AEW but he's also a similar gimmick as MJF. Can't see anyone else signing other than to be enhancement talent
Yeah I figured a grand total may be listed somewhere. I was more curious individually. Would also want to know if Vince giving big show (Mania, Blood Money) payments to talent factor into that number.
