No. I’ve gotten beer/wine delivered and UPS and FedEx are both waiving the ID/signature requirement. All those enterprising 19 year olds out there should be stocking up!
Yes, FedEx. I just signed an iPhone looking thing. They were wearing gloves. Then I just washed my hands right afterwards
My assumption is it will come down to what the driver feels like doing then. Just curious, I have a shipment coming Sunday.
I guess it’s luck of the draw. One of my guys cited a suspension of company policy, but I don’t remember which one it was.
Opening once quarantine is over assuming I don’t cave prior: Daniel Ocean - found a new bourbon contact/dealer, probably has the best private stock of rare stuff I’ve seen in LA. Sending you his info.
This one was a gift from a client - none of my venues use buffalo trace as the well so we rarely move enough to get the allotments of PVW.
For the Craig barrel proof what do the batch numbers mean? I assume the number is month/year but what about the a/b/c?
So I guy who works for me just got a bottle of bourbon by mistake from some company he ordered maker's from. It's an Uncle Nearest 1856 100 proof valued at about $60. I see it online, but anyone ever try it?
I sampled it at a store a few months ago. It's fine. I didn't think it was anything special but it was decent.
I am in an absolute shit mood, because I am panicked about my PPP loan that we got approved for 11 days ago and still haven't seen. Just got a knock on the door, and I totally forgot I ordered this a couple of notes ago so this helped a little bit.
I just sent a bottle of this to my right hand guy in my company the other day along with face masks and rubber gloves. He was very pleased by the whiskey as it was a surprise. I think Hibiki is my favorite Japanese whiskey.
I can usually get small batch for $45 a piece. Other than that I typically only see rye around $90 and a very infrequent single barrel for $80-100. Not sure small batch would be worth shipping though.
Three releases per year, A B and C. Think the first number is the month it’s released, last two are the year. B517 was the second 2017 release that came out in May.
First impression was favorable, second was me wondering if I had just poured a glass of Dickle BiB. Have not been back for a third taste since.
Got the itchy finger and made an order yesterday to pick up today. They dropped it off in the back of my car when I pulled up.
Haven’t tried it yet. It was nice and sunny and reasonably warm so I went with a transfusion this afternoon (sitting on the back patio watching the Psych marathon). I try not to test new liquors with a slight buzz. But I promise to report back.
Are they all aged 12 years? I noticed it on this bottle but never paid attention to previous batches.
So I had two glasses last night. My first impression was that it wasn't as smooth as the El Dorado 15 or the Ron Zacapa Centenario Sistema Solera 23 Rum, but once I started accepting it for what it was I enjoyed it. It definitely has a lot more burn than those two, but it is also 120 proof compared to 86 and 80 proof. I don't know Rum enough yet to judge between them, but I tasted lots of cocoa notes, which seems to be a staple of all the rums I have tried and I liked it. I also tasted the oak. Overall it was enjoyable, but I am not fully there yet with rum but have no issue pouring a glass and enjoying it. I just need to build up my taste for it. It's hard to do when I like bourbon as much as I do, but I will definitely cycle it in.
Yes, for sure. When I started to look at it in the lens of cask strength it was enjoyable and easy to drink.
