Only problem with that is you fill one void and create another, although I guess you could argue it would be easier to find a plug and play WR in this draft class than safety. They really don’t have much of anything beyond Landry and Odell, so one of those first 3 picks would absolutely have to be a WR.
Just read through the latest SI mock, and it had us taking Wirfs, Baun, Ashtyn Davis and Duverney in the first 3 rounds.
It depends on how far and what the compensation is. I assume that puts us around #20 and I'd want a second and probably a third next year for that, at least.
maybe not the consensus take, but i'd like to bring obj back and see what he can do with someone who isn't a potato running the team
Hopefully we're trying to get other teams to trade up and get him so we can pick between wills and Becton
Simmons too, definitely. If we go OT in the first, I’d love for them to grab Chinn in the 2nd round. Dude is Simmons light.
Wirfs possibly needing to move inside is my biggest concern for any of the 4 My preference is Wills or Becton
Supposedly 7-8 teams have inquired about the 10th spot. I really hope they don’t trade 10 with one of the top 4 left on the board only to take a second tier OT that might not even be ready this season.
Given the Bucs would almost definitely take a tackle at #14 and I would imagine it will be pretty unlikely two of the tackles drop to #14 or lower, I can't really support a trade down to #15 or lower. Unlikely San Fran would want to trade up from #13, but the Raiders at #12 could be an ideal trade partner. At 1300 points vs. 1200 points, our pick is worth 100 points of draft value. They have three 3rd rounders with value between 130-190 points. If they really want Jeudy or Lamb, I can see them parting with the extra point value to jump the Jets and get them. If there's two tackles on the board, I'd love a trade to 12 with the Raiders for a 3rd rounder so they can pick up the WR they want. Otherwise, hard for me to get behind a trade down, because we won't end up with one of the top 4 guys.
I would get it if they really view Jones and Cleveland the same as the top guys. I’d not but I guess then we’d see if it works
They're driving up the price. If the price is right to move back, do it. Worst case scenario, Jason Peters is a free agent and you can deal with him for one year.
Pass on a sure fire Pro Bowl OT who we will have for the next 3-4 years for a bunch of not sure thing OT's? Yikes. There isn't an elite, Joe Thomas type OT in this draft. Are there a bunch with potential? Yes. There are a bunch of good OT's who all have question marks. Give me the sure thing for a 3rd round draft pick and allow me to get an elite player at #10. Anyway, here is a list of guys that 'insiders' said they are hearing the Browns are interested in: WR - Justin Jefferson, Michael Pittman, Van Jefferson, Tyler Johnson and Antonio Gandy-Golden DT - Ross Blaylock and Justin Madubuike LB - Zach Baun, Willie Gay and Logan Wilson S - Chinn and Winfield
Also, these are all teams who have contacted Cleveland to gauge a potential trade up to #10. Draft position - team 14 - Tampa Bay 15 - Denver 16 - Atlanta 19 - Miami 21 - Philadelphia 23 - New England 24 - New Orleans
Orrrr...stick with me here....pass on the guy who is going to take up a huge chunk of change and can’t stay healthy. They have too many big names coming up in FA to have money tied up in guys who aren’t playing.
He played 13 games his last year and has had plenty of time to heal up. Callahan loves him. It makes all the sense in the world.
This is a little overstated imo We also know the Redskins medical staff is trash. And "Draft a LT, develop him, save big $$ too." is easier said than done. Not advocating for Trent but I don't think the decision is as easy as that tweet portrays.
Hey, if he can come in and play every game (or close to it) that would be awesome. Personally, I just don’t see it given his history.
I see the top 3 QBs in the top 10. Okudah, Chase Young, and Simmons are top 10 locks. Then that leaves the 4 OTs...I'm assuming he thinks one of the QBs doesn't go top 10?
he mentioned that he thinks OT run will start at 4, and to not be shocked if MIA, LAC, CAR, AZ and even JAX eye OT.
If we can get Williams in a trade and come away with Simmons at 10 then the rest of the draft doesn't even matter.
