Considering you work in the mortgage biz if I remember correctly I’d figure you knew money a little better than that. Say a guy starts out with enough money to buy ten pairs. He can sell those in a week and 600 profit. There’s probably an average between the dunks, Jordan’s, random limited ASICS/nb/yeezy/celeb collab etc etc of slightly more than one pair a week on average you can do that with. Put that money into the next release...profit even more as you purchased three or four extra shoes the 2nd time with the profit. Profit exponentially during that year or profit once? It’s quite simple Would you rather make 600 after a week and more and more money every week thereafter or a profit of $3k a year later? You’re more intelligent than you often pretend to be in order to defend your argument. It isn’t tough to figure out. You obviously do not like me very much. That’s ok.
Again, you're showing the difference in avg Joes and the pros. The pros have the capital and liquidity to sit on hundreds/thousands of sneakers at a time. They don't have to flip for quick profit to put into the next release. They have the money to buy and sit on both. The people that have to flip quick are referred to as "brokebois" and they are the reason resell prices dip right after release in most cases.
Flip 10 shoes for 60 dollars profit and reinvest that money. Assuming the starting price of the shoes is $170. If you sell your inventory every 2 months for $60 profit, and keep reinvesting you’re at $7700 cash at the end of the year versus $4700 if you just buy and hold and sell for $300 profit.
lol, theres a pretty large capitol difference between holding 5 pair and 1,000 pair. Not sure I know a lot of people with the credit or cash on hand to buy and hold $200k worth of shoes
If you need the money now to have capital yes flip, if you don't need the money it holding in to them doesn't affect your ability to do business then you can hold them. I get what everyone is saying the less risk adverse method is always taking the money now and reinvesting bc the market could tank on that specific shoe. However, it seems that they probably have enough data points to say it's a worthy investment
That's assuming you don't have money to keep investing, by all means this thrbis smartest okay if you only had a small amount of money. If you are still able to keep buying then holding is a perfectly acceptable move.
Also this USA AMI Flyknit that dblplay1212 posted make me want some am1. I think I'll grab them or a pair of new balances next
Right, bc we dont know professional resellers. Guys like Netmagnestism. Iirc he bought 300 pairs of OW Vapormax at one time at resell prices right after release to sit on them for a year or longer. It's a completely different deal than your avg guy.
then you have enough to quickly flip fifty thousand pairs instead of a few thousand. Either way you try to look at it making your money work exponentially for you makes your more money than sitting and that money invested in a pair only making money once during that time. Exponential is always better. If you have room to sit on a thousand pairs you have room to flip a thousand a week. Exponential profits always will destroy single time profits. If you have the finances and ability to sit on thousands of pairs you have the finances, space, and ability to score a shit load of pairs to flip quickly. There’s less effort in the sitting method and also less money to be made. Sure they’re making good money. They could be making more though. There’s no argument. Numbers never lie.
A lot of those guys LOVE hype and love their name being out there. They thrive more off of that than the bigger profits they could have. Sure they make a lot of money but to pretend they couldn’t/wouldn’t make more is insane. You wouldn’t know them though if they did it that way and they want to be known
50k pairs? Really? That's where you are going now? Idk why it's so hard for you to comprehend that 150% profit is better than 20% profit.
To me, regardless of kyle’s scenario, that sounds like a lot more work than just using etrade to buy/sell shares digitally
I remember when this thread's only feeling about resellers was fuck 'em. Take the stupid bickering elsewhere.
This is the way.... I was thinking one or two pair....But if you have a shit ton... flip them all while they are hot and make that money.
I was thinking the same way at first, but look at the hit yeezy has taken by releasing a new pair ever month. ReSales are up but those high prices are down.....I guess I would just gauge the shoe I have and go from there...
Yea Yeezy isn't a market I'd play in. They've over-saturated the market and they are all so similar that none is a must have. Shoes I would/have invested in recently: AJ1 Obsidian (got 3 at retail) AM1 London (1 retail, 2 at $280) AM1 Amsterdam (2 at $300) Am90 Duck Camo (3 at $220-230) AM90 og colorblock pack (all $90 or less) AM1 NYC CNY (1 at retail, 2 at $195) Am1 Houndstooth (1 at retail, 1 at $90, 3 at $68) AJ1 Low Koston/UNC (1 at retail, 2 at $200-205) AJ1 Low Paris (3 at $170-185) I'll pick up a few AJ1 Game Royal too. All of the pairs I bought were my size so idk id I'll ever sell them but I feel confident that 7 or the 10 will double in value over the next 12-18 months.
No, a retailer sells at retail. An investor buys something, sits on it while it goes up in value, and then sells it. Shoes are no different than stocks and real estate. idk why some view it so differently.
More houses/buildings are built literally every day. And Nike could make more, but they don't do that very often. They have sporadic restocks but they are usually very small and don't affct resell prices much at all. They don't release a shoe 6 times in 3 years.
Back to sneaker discussion but still onto resale topic the black game royals next Saturday are going to be an absolute bitch to get. Looking at resell so far they’re going for a lot more than AJ1 usually are selling for at this point. The resellers are going to pull all the stops to get pairs. My local stores are back open I believe but not sure with just opening that they’ll have them.
the 350 trfrm dropped sub $300 in my size for the first time in like a year makes me want to pull the trigger but that color seems kind of limiting
I want that one baaaad. It's down to $285 in my size. I'm tempted, but I'm also trying not to spend money right now.
Tell that to Dubai. But seriously, most real estate purchases come with the house/building on it. Investing in land/real estate/house/building/condos/townhouses/etc isn't mush different than shoes. Buy, hold, sell for profit.
I haven't followed these since release. I thought they were supposed to be available all season like the Hanes shirts?
Hell if I know normally. So many of his friends get knockoffs he likes it to show they are real. It’s a pita if you ask me
