I have never been more excited to join a random companies conf call: https://www.globenewswire.com/news-...n-Thursday-April-30-2020-at-11-00-a-m-ET.html
Call of Duty reference. I should’ve known there’s not much crossover between this thread and the video game threads.
I bought more AMZN expecting an earnings pump like the rest of tech but it's a bit of a risk. Processing more home goods as a % of inventory is going to really hurt their opex. Anticipating the AWS growth and revenue growth will overshadow and be the predominant narratives pushing it higher.
I'll post an update soon with positions I'm attempting - anyone that wants to trail (for better or worse) can feel free to do so.
Basic backdrop Roth question. I contributed to my traditional IRA and invested it immediately. That stock is now down slightly. Now would be a good time to convert it, correct? Since the dollar amount I’d be converting is less than what I initially contributed, there’s no additional earnings to tax? I keep getting tripped up on the mechanics of it even though it seems so simple
If you’re backdooring, just convert the non-deductible contribution to your Roth right after you put the money in.
Haven't been listening but here are bullet points I've been following on the conference call: Spoiler Continues business as normal in COVID-19, has not had to lay off or furlough any employees. Making strong progress in the drone delivery market. (This likely has something to do with the video rumor that suggests a new drone being launched in partnership with Amazon.) COVID-19 pandemic is leading to stronger demand for commercial drone delivery. Australian University is developing pandemic drones. UAVs intended to spray crops are being modified to spray disinfectant over large infection zones. The company is ramping up production of complex electrical components and testing equipment. Software platform is seeing strong progress in Florida in the hemp farming space. UAVS has already seen positive comments although the platform was just launched. Other states are expected to follow in this hemp grower software platform. The company is in active discussions to identify specific needs of various states. However, this contact has taken a back seat to COVID-19. The company believes that Hemp Overview can become a cornerstone in hemp compliance. UAVS is scaling back other opportunities to pay more attention to hemp farming and commercial drone delivery opportunities. CEO will resign on May 5th. New CEO is expected to be announced in the next few days. Absolutely no mention of the drone partnership with Amazon rumor.
This looks like some of the biotech pump n dumps I used to follow. Always a great rush. Schedule a call where everyone is hoping for an amazon partnership. Nope, just the CEO stepping down.
Man UAVS was fun. Got in at .77 Monday, sold at .99. Back in at 1.16, sold today for $3.50 and remaining few shares sold through stop loss at $3 right before trading halted. Good times. Also, bought a 177.5 call for Visa, expiring May 15. Earnings today. Fingers crossed.
Visa doesn't hold any of the counterparty risk. They just take the fees on the transaction as a processor.
And I wonder if you’ll see even less cash once this clears up. More fees. It’s more of a long play. I have no intention of selling.
Yea I’m holding some of the stock long term as well as the short term call. I like the long odds a lot better
I like Visa a lot as a company. Got in a little bit back in early 2018 when the crypto stuff was exploding because they were aggressively seeking out crypto developers to enhance their product. Kicking myself for not dropping in more because it's been a rocket.
I think there is a very small (but nonzero) chance that the G8 countries cancel their debt obligations to China in retaliatory fashion.
LA is in ruins - one of my employees is getting $500 to work a high stakes game of Guess Who. When you run out of ideas.......
