I can tell you La Porte and Deerpark TX restaurants are at full capacity. Had to detour through the towns due to roadwork and all the restaurants’ parking lots are full with no lines outside
That most people aren't at risk. Have I misunderstood that it largely affects very specific groups of people? This has nothing to do with anyone in any at risk group. Who I also believe and have stated that they, along with others around and/or associated with them, should be extremely cautious. As I have been with my own friends and family, during and after staying in the house a month. Absolutely nothing. This is the shit I mean that I can't discuss it without someone losing it. Is that something related to that stupid video that came out? I don't know a single person who shared or mentioned or watched it. I have only seen it mentioned here.
ok make the affirmative case for SC opening restaurants at a flat case and death rate then, with data and overall goal with coronavirus (i'm assuming you want to just run up infections to hit herd immunity but i'll wait for you to clarify)
I mean this analogy can be made for everything in America now from healthcare, to food, to transportation, etc America is a country that works extremely well for 20% and doesn’t for the other 80%
sure and pointing it out that the people most clamoring for people to go back to work aren't the ones who will be forced to be at risk and die is quite the political case to disseminate
i don’t know if that’s true. A lot of people don’t have a stable source of income now. If you want to say that’s not right then that’s a different discussion. I know some people that cut hair, own family restaurants, work retail and they are really struggling and want to go back to work. The big corporations are going to be fine, self employed people and small business owners are getting crushed.
seeing the polling on stay at home orders being positively thought of, broad fears of back to work too soon, the astroturfed protests, etc etc for now makes me confident in that i do agree as time goes on and the unemployment starts to fall away, etc it's going to get dire if more stimulus isn't coming (but i also dont think thats a valid reason to actually remove restrictions either but alas)
i admittedly only have anecdotes but at least where I am at, people want to work. The other thing that is going to become a huge issue soon is that state budgets are going to get killed. I don’t know if it’s avoidable at this point but social programs for states are going to take huge hits
Did Reverend Randy Jones identify Trump as the Anti-Christ prophesied for these end times? There’s a segment of evangelical Christians who believe he is.
I also don't find "just open things up" as a convincing fix to that due to various issues starting with the problems around demand not being remedied with the virus still rolling, how companies will function with huge outbreaks, etc or find it a morally tenable one
Which is wild considering the New Testament literally says no one knows when the end times will happen it’s almost like they aren’t even the Christians they claim to be
to quote Mona Lisa Vito “that’s a bullshit question. It’s impossible to answer” because without proper testing there is no way to know.
I know. That hasn’t kept Crackpots and Tyrants from using it it to build large followings, control and even kill others.
the fucked up thing is that the people that want to go back to work aren’t the ones that will suffer from going back to work. The virus just isn’t super dangerous to people under the age of 50. So they can go back to work and not pay the price. I wish there was more of a focus on keeping those in real danger safe. Things have been reduced to open it up! vs keep everyone home!
How did we just gloss over Katie Miller testing positive in a few posts. I mean I threw my head back and laughed for a good 30 seconds when I heard. It was the best schadenfreude I have had in months.
This is the closest we've ever been to Stephen Miller dying. You think Kentucky football wouldn't celebrate winning the SEC east? We got a real shot here.
There is no way Trump is getting nasal swabbed every day right? Absolutely no way he would subject himself to that shit every day. Neither would most of the other staffers there I bet.
If it came down to it, Trump would demand that all the others do it daily. I have no idea what test he is having.
none of these shit heels are going to die and we know it i actually see a problem with all of them getting sick. they never wear masks and they get entirely too close to reporters. i’m more worried their negligence kills a wh reporter than one of these dumbasses dying
They don’t want to go back to work just for the sake of work (aside from the return to normalcy feeling everyone wants), they want to have the financial security they had before COVID. Also places can open for business, doesn’t mean they’ll have customers. As Lyrtch said, these are things that could be alleviated with a competent and slightly compassionate federal government. idk man shit sucks eat arbys
Until our elected officials have adequate testing and contact tracing lined up to allow us to stomp on this outbreak like any other country not ran by idiots. Oh wait, that’ll never happen because, lol, it’s a hoax, gotcha!!!
a bar in my area is open they miraculously sell food now and i’ve never known of them to sell food before now
cruz sucks ass but cornyn is the one we should direct our anger to if we’re going to hate texas senators
