https://www.omegawatches.com/en-us/...axial-master-chronometer-41-mm-43313412102001 I like this, very clean
Painfully close to pulling the trigger on one of these. Any input? Idk if the GMT is versatile enough. Seems like a watch that doesn't wouldn't be conducive to daily wear.
I like the GMTs better and I think they’re versatile and sturdy enough for daily wear. They’re 316L steel, so no less sturdy than an Explorer 1 IMO
Has anyone ever used or heard of this website Jomashop.com? They claim all of their watches are brand new out of the box. I don’t plan on buying my first watch their but if it is legitimate I would buy some. They have some pretty great discounts. Maybe they sell older models that did not sell well? Figured I would turn to the experts here. https://www.jomashop.com/breitling-premier-watch-a37340351g1p1.html
They're a large gray market dealer. They buy excess stock from ADs, among other sourcing options, and offer their own warranty in lieu of the manufacturer's warranty. No one I've encountered who has used Joma has had a bad experience.
Bought a Tissot from there years ago. They have been around for a while and I’ve never heard of any issues.
I've also not heard of any issues with jomashop, but I personally wouldn't go with a grey dealer for anything over $1k or so, unless it was just a screaming deal. I have several watches and haven't had any break, but that could be a PITA if it did on a more expensive watch
In an auction now for a pink gold Cartier Tank Cintree pink gold dual time zone. This watch is fucking cool. 100 of this edition made.
I saw some crazy vintage Cartier "diver" on Instagram the other day. Super weird design. Pretty cool though. I wore this guy for the first time in a couple months today. Forgot why I bought it in the first place. It's really a beautiful watch and probably the only watch I have gotten a good deal on. Even if it's just an ETA-2824, the finishing is beautiful and at least I get to own a Tudor because I have always wanted one and didn't really want to pay $3-4k. Thinking about throwing it on a NATO because I'll wear it much more.
Seiko Fuyugeshiki or Seiko Baby Snowflake (I don’t get why the latter is twice the price) Is this listing legit? Answer to question 1, or Max Bill Bauhaus
1. I don't know much about these watches but isn't the baby snowflake titanium? 2. Looks legit to me. 3. Bauhaus.
I was going to buy one of those Farer's, but it just doesn't make sense right now. As much as I like those watches, I don't foresee wearing it enough to make sense parting with $1,500 knowing that I'll probably end up selling it for $700-$800 because I don't wear it.
Hokeamania inspired me to look for something different along those lines of that Patek because it’s a sexy watch and have narrowed down my choices between the Rolex I posted earlier and this
You dislike Junghaus, or just like Nomos that much more? I’m really not familiar with Nomos, just curious. Assuming it’s a better thought of movement?
Both. Junghaus is fine, if you're looking to spend low-end Seiko money, but spending $1200 is insanity. You can get a used NOMOS for far less
That's 80 years of perfection. The design looks like it could be today. 36mm? Charge it to the game, you deserve a cv present for as busy as you've been.
It's incredible condition. I fucking love those vintage watches. The stories behind them...someone had that watch on V-E Day. Probably looked at it to see what time the world was ending during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Incredible.
Goldammer.me is a great IG account for (generally non Patek/Rolex) vintage dress watches. disclaimer- have not bought from them so can’t attest to that part, but seems to have great reviews. Based in EU.
This guy is one of my favorites. Just a bunch of beautiful watches I can’t afford. Those vintage Franck Muller’s (before they went off the deep end) are beautiful. https://instagram.com/a_collected_man?igshid=1kqhf3cwit0bw
I like that Legends Diver. Upon close inspection, I'm not sure if it's well-finished enough to justify the price tag as compared to a lot of the microbrand stuff. If you have any recs for a real vintage diver I'm all ears. I know nothing about the vintage market. I figure $2k might get you something from a great Swiss brand like Omega though
I came to a similar conclusion with regard the heritage diver update. I would grab an OG version with the quickness, if I ever came across one.
Bulova/Caravelle 666 Enicar Sherpa Dive Doxa if you’re looking to scratch the vintage diver inspired look itch, then I’d look at Dan Henry. He has an insane vintage watch collection and started making (mostly quartz) vintage “inspired” watches at an affordable price point. Quality is very good. I picked up a quartz 1972 alarm Chronograph (DLC model) and was impressed.
Fudd Bezos Not quite vintage, but Bronze & has the vibe... I’m kinda feeling it. https://baltic-watches.com/en/products/aquascaphe-bronze-blue-gilt?location=US Spoiler
I've been so close to buying a Baltic but then I keep seeing the word Miyota...They are nearly perfect in every other way. I know I'm a douche. Just saw your PM btw
It's so funny looking at these vintage watches - "Oversized"=36mm, "Jumbo"=37mm Times have changed, grandpa
hudson Laco is catching my eye. I never see any advertising for them and I guess they don’t pay these “influencers” enough to plug them. Beautiful watches.
