Children’s hospital has nurses and doctors and other staff that go out into the community, no? just saying. The risk is greater to them, most likely.
Yes but they’re being tested as well. It’s only children allowed or born in this hospital. It’s not a normal hospital. Upon arrival we are tested and treated as if we have covid the same as they are. Once in we cannot leave until discharge and no one is allowed in.
Yeah one of our pharmacists just had a her first, and they told her husband if you leave the birthing room at anytime you won't be allowed back in.
This is a byproduct of our media’s obsession with presenting “both sides” of an issue and letting the viewer’s decide. Everything becomes “the truth is probably somewhere in the middle” instead of there being any actual right or wrong. That’s the objective of the “debate me, coward” crowd and our media plays right into it.
If someone were to take a large survey of white folk not living in NY/NJ I think the vast majority would say they don’t actually know anyone who has had or died from C19. I could be wrong but it’s my impression at the moment.
Dewine basically acknowledged we have no further ability to enforce it, so we’re going to let it fly and hope the curve was flattened as people start to get it.
or they know one of the many people who had it and were fine which only amplifies the conspiracy theories they want to believe from Fox News and the even farther right fake news they see on Facebook.
I'm not sure how anyone would begin to estimate what we would be looking like under your hypothetical, but it makes sense to me too We have a literal army of unemployed people who could be delivering and pulling orders, taking orders over the phone for people who cant navigate online systems. Although this scenario would clearly be tyranny setup to seperate people making them more willing to get the Bill Gates vaccine 5G microchip so fuck us
12% want all restrictions lifted. That 12% is loud, arrogant, protests a lot, uses all caps on Facebook and has the full backing of the president. That is his base. When we talk about actual MAGA/KAGA people, that’s the sort of number I would expect. Regardless of how loud they are, they don’t speak for anywhere close to the majority of this country. Let the president keep pandering toward his most loyal fans. It’s not nearly enough people to get him elected.
Yeah I think the only people who think “Americans” don’t believe in 80K deaths/conspiracy folks and want to reopen everything Because it’s a hoax is basing their opinions on social media and seeing reports of protests. most people are still nervous for themselves and their families. The protests work because they are visible and vocal, but as the data from states that have opened Up clearly show most people aren’t going back to restaurants and businesses in the same mass waves as before. Volumes are still down, people still aren’t flying by airplane and traveling, more people are still working from home and most schools still aren’t in session. “Americans” are still as a majority doing social distancing despite the loud and minority crew on social media and doing protests. Those are the extremes, not the norm. I am in one of the most MAGA states there is and of the ~100+ people I’ve had in clinic in the past couple of weeks there was only 1 who wouldn’t wear a mask and take it seriously.
Compare his response to a common law enforcement scenario—speeding. In a given day the number of speeders getting away with it is much higher than the number who are stopped by LE. Certainly the LE resources are not at the level to completely enforce the speeding regulations. Yet, you don’t see Governors throw up their arms and say, “The hell with it. We can’t adequately enforce the speeding laws so we’re deleting them.” What he’s doing is the chicken-shit politically expedient way out of taking any responsibility.
I was saying this at the beginning. I think that one issue not discussed enough was that we weren’t aggressive enough early.
I’ve known 2 offices to go get tested recently. The positive cases from the office got call backs within 3 days. The negative cases waited another 5-10. Not sure if intentional/coincidental. My guess is the positive cases get thrown on a expedited call back list, idk.
When friends use the term “lock-down” I always correct them. We never locked down except for maybe some areas on the West Coast and NYC. We “stayed at home” but with many business sectors remaining open. “Lock-down” was Italy, where basically everything was closed except health care, essential government, grocery stores and pharmacies. One person in a household was allowed to be outside and they had to be on an errand for medicine, health care or groceries.
This morning, as I drove home from home depot (don’t ask), I was thinking about how we never had a real lock down and anyone using those words doesn’t know what a lock down is.
The simpler answer is people are stupid and will believe anything that confirms to their way of thinking.
I’m prob just gonna buy less stuff forever now to fuck with people that are like “open the economy!!! Must have money!!!”
FYI you can now buy the one use disposable masks on Amazon now. They aren't just restricting them to first responders now. They aren't the N95 ones or anything but something to add to the preventative measures we are taking. Think I paid like $40 for 50 to get them next day and then $30 for 50 that delivered in 3 or 4 days.
Our federal govt downplayed it and tried to divide the country on partisan lines about a fucking virus. That was America’s first mistake—all trump and kushner led. A stricter lockdown would’ve actually followed what China did, which we knew wouldn’t be tolerated here, and for some reason idiots still kept expecting our economy to open sooner, even though we were already 2 months behind.
A quack lawyer from NYC was actually POTUS’ chief coronavirus advisor at the time. He told him C19 was lesser than the flu.
I just bought 200 for our office for when we reopen. Won't be for staff use (we all have our own) but to provide to anyone coming in the office.
I felt like we needed more one use ones with how TN is opening back up. We ordered a couple cloth ones with the pockets for filters as well.
They're offering free antibody and "current" COVID-19 tests this weekend in AZ. Went in this morning to get tested for the antibodies and was impressed with how many people were there. Probably about 75 cars in line for the current test and another 40-50 in line for the antibody test. All but 1 person in the line had masks on. I was in and out for the antibody test in about 25 minutes. Was all surprisingly organized and efficient. Hopefully many more people will take advantage of this.
Another 468 cases and 28 deaths in Arizona today. Just took my kid for a walk and there is a full fledged little league tournament going on at the local fields
One take away is that Trump unsurprisingly cannot do basic math in his head. And he keeps getting it wrong by saying 1917...
lmao i just got an email from my company that’s saying they’re forcing some of my coworkers to go back to work on monday said to bring your own masks and sanitizer. also said to stay 6 feet from others “if work allows”
