good friend picked his up two weeks ago. He loves it so far. Said he's getting 24 mpg instead of the estimated 26. I haven't driven it yet but the surprising thing to me was how quiet it was.
I know I'm an outlier since I run all over for work, but I'm at 131,000 on the 2017 Sierra hd Something is wrong with the transmission, just started Monday while pulling a trailer Code says its the torque converter solenoid stuck off
I'm at 90k on my 17 Ram 1500. Developed an exhaust leak on the engine back in march, but the dealership was closed except for emergency repairs. I don't really want a new truck because this one has been paid off for a year, but I'm being told there are pretty good deals to be had. Has anyone seen anything on new trucks?
90k on my wife’s F150 with a ton of hauling miles (horses). No major issues, but I’d imagine it’s only a matter of time.
uh oh - at least it’s not the temperature sensor in the transmission, that happened to me back in the fall & took a month to get the part in & swap it out
I think Rams around here were roughly 10k off or so, and I’ve been checking the rebates on GMCs...for whatever reason, they keep getting smaller even though I know dealers have to be getting killed right now in terms of sales
Just got the front windows tinted to match the back on the F150. Man, what a difference that makes. Darker than I thought, but I like it.
Exactly, warranties, gap insurance (scam and a half from the dealer), add-ons (i.e. scotch guard, undercoating) too.
And used cars, but low sell high. I got a new F-150 once over a used one just because factory rebates put the price lower than the used one.
Nah, not dumb - I like the idea but not that they make the bed narrower, but I do like that the Rams have storage boxes in the back seat floorboard (may only be for Longhorn & Limited models though) in addition to the underseat storage
oh yeah, I’ve always heard that - and parts sales too since the quote I got from the dealer parts department was more than double what I paid on Amazon for front brake pads & rotors since I need to do a front brake job on mine
OEM parts that I got for $100 (after rebate + shipping it comes out to $75) they were going to charge me $375 for.

damn - they were wanting around $410 for middle of the road AC Delco front rotors & pads, and I got better AC Delco rotors & pads that match the OEM ones that came on the truck on Amazon for $260
I checked there too & I think Amazon was $5 more total and I’d get it 4 days sooner...but looking on Rockauto was how I figured out the dealer was selling mid-grade parts by checking the part numbers from the dealer quote printout against the part numbers on Rockauto
Yeah. Also, if you check out any message boards for your truck, there usually are vendors that will provide discounts as well.
Anyone have an Ecoboost or anything they've heard on them? looking to possibly buy a 2014 F150 4x4 Supercrew with 52,000 miles want to know about reliability and MPG. Thanks.
I’ve had the 3.5, 2.7, and two 2.3 ecoboost and I haven’t had any issues with either. My 3.5 was about at that mileage when I traded
someone backed into my truck. Two dents on the front right bumper. Looks to be entirely cosmetic and they left a note with their contact info. But fuckkkkkkk that's my baby
I traded in bc my commute got way longer, so I switched to a car. After a year I said fuck it and went back to an F-150 with a 2.7. I think i got 22-23 mpg with that 3.5, which is the first version.
Thats pretty good mileage, I'd be putting some decent highway miles on it but my commute would be in the mountains and I'd need 4x4 in the winter otherwise I'd be in something different.
I have a ‘17 with the 3.5. I’ve only had it since mid March, so I can’t really opine on it other than it seems fine. Haven't driven it much.
Anyone with a F-150 10-speed have a thud when it skips a gear (usually 3rd) downshifting? Seems like it may be common and not harmful but was curious if others had it happen.
I have this truck (1rst gen 3.5 EB) (2014) in the Supercab layout. Will click 90k in the next couple of weeks. Bought with about your mileage. Put O² sensors in it pretty early. Did plugs at 75k. Zero reliability issues. I do some hauling, and my commute is not highway rating. Average mpg is between 17 and 17.5. Got up to 19 on a trip to Missouri last summer.
When I got it, I reset the stats and I'm at 16 right now, but I only drive 2-3 miles per time i take it out, so obviously its not gonna be good. I think before I reset it, the previous owner was averaging over 18. Let me know if you have any other questions. I haven't noticed that yet, but I have heard these 10-speeds can have issues. I would check out www.f150forum.com if you want to find out more, it has a lot of good info.
Thoughts on this? https://www.loufuszchryslerjeepdodg...lariat-4wd-crew-cab-pickup-1ftfw1ev8afa94002/ Don’t need anything great but I don’t want a junker either. Just want a truck for practical use. I mostly work from home but sometimes have to haul. This wouldn’t be used regularly.
I’d look locally at craigslist and Facebook listings. I’d want to see the underside of this one and make sure the rust was just on the body: https://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/d/cobden-02-chevy-silverado-1500-z71/7125165446.html Spoiler: Craigslist results https://stlouis.craigslist.org/sear...itle_status=1&auto_bodytype=7&auto_bodytype=9
Yeah I think it may have sold. I called them yesterday and he said he’d go check the lot and call me back but never did.
Have a 2008 Avalon that has served me well, but I’ve decided it’s almost time to get something new. Been going back and forth between an SUV and a truck, and think I’ve decided on a Ram 1500. Probably look at getting a 2020 this fall once the 2021 models come out. Didn’t go into this search with the Ram high on my list, but seems like it’s got the F-150 and Silverado beat based on all the research I’ve done. Any Ram owners on here? I’m excited to join the club sometime soon.
Was going to jump on this deal until after talking with them for a day they quoted me 59800 when it's advertised for 51200. Apparently that's with all incentives that I think is virtually impossible for everyone to qualify for them all. https://www.ourismanchryslerdodgeje...bowie-md-054a2ff10a0e0ae8210cc93697881ca1.htm Found this at the very bottom: The Ourisman ePrice or Internet Price includes ALL Incentives and Rebates such as Military, Returning Lessee, Chrysler Capital Bonus Cash, National Association of Realtors, First Responders, etc.(for an explanation of these incentives, please click here). Customers may not qualify for any or all of these incentives, which would affect the "Internet Price" quoted. The "Internet Price" is not valid with any other price, promotion, discount, or prior sales agreement. The price quoted does not include taxes, tags, destination/freight fees, Ourisman Advantage and dealer processing fee of $300.
Almost purchased a 2018 ram rebel this weeked. Decided to hold off though like I originally planned. So just making payments on a fake truck into a bank account
Bringing my Lariat in for a recall thursday. Hopefully they can also figure out WTF my bluetooth/Nav doesnt work. The computer is shot it wont save any info and keeps rebooting/dropping calls etc. Ive been so busy with work im lucky its died down this week. They say itll take 2 days for the recall. So i figure ill go away for the weekend and come back but i bet the BT module is going to cost me a ton. I got this baby with 8250mi on it. Just sitting in my friends driveway waiting to tow his motorcycles around. I put 60K on it in a year. LOL Side note: this very week is the week i told my former boss to go fuck himself and went out on my own. Never looked back.
My next F150 will definitely be with that upgraded reclining seat. I want another Lariat SuperCab but i doubt theyll have that seat upgrade for it. Imo its just a better look than the SCrew. I dont need the rear seat space. It's just a waste. And also i prefer the 6.5 bed etc. Oh and Cooled seats are a must. I put that fucker on all year round.
