yup. I'm gonna be content to get my space outside and just chill. People who want to rush to bars and restaurants can have at it.
I feel like all the people who have been telling us to "strap up" (or whatever the expression was) for the past decade are now essentially telling everyone to unstrap. Very confusing.
My Mom just sent me a meme of this and said she is creeped out. C = 3 O = 15 R = 18 O = 15 N = 14 A = 1 ________________ 6 66 STILL WANT THAT VACCINE? I said damn, the beer of the devil has been around this whole time and we're just now finding out?!?
I will say that trying to go to Magic Kingdom with people wearing masks will absolutely have an impact on that experience that would make it not worth an annual pass price (in my opinion). Theme parks entire premise is to be in a different place. It's definitely not a high priority problem to deal with or something to be angry about, since that's just reality, but it's hard picturing myself at a theme park where you can't see anyone smiling. Will they put "masks" on Mickey Mouse?
“Be a Texan” might be the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard as a slogan ever. I hope Abbott’s hell is just a never ending flight of stairs.
Just found out my dads girlfriend got hit by a car outside their apartment as a pedestrian this morning. old dude ran a curb and hit her. Got rushed to the hospital with some bleeding in the brain. Keeping her at least overnight. My dad is with her now. He’s 72 with heart surgery in his past and many health issues. Now I’m worried about her and worried about both of them getting covid. Luckily things haven’t been as bad with covid in our area but I’m definitely nervous about him in a hospital. I can’t blame him for going though. I would have done the same thing. Hopefully they stay safe in the hospital. I’m sure he will have to leave sometime soon anyway.
Is it a major Metropolitian ED? Even if it is, they are likely very safe. Hospitals, in general, are still very slow and taking cleanliness as seriously as possible. This obviously guarantees nothing, but I just want to help you worry less about them being at the hospital.
It's my parents 40th anniversary this summer and they were doing a 5-day trip to Disney for the family. We're pretty much pushing it back a year now because even if the parks are open they're not doing a lot of the extra stuff my mom really wanted to do.
I appreciate it. A good friend of mine works there and had run me through what’s going on there. I know they have covid-19 patients but it’s a small few and they are doing everything right. Probably not THAT much higher than if he went out to eat. Just concerned because I have my doubts on whether he could survive something that major with some of his health issues.
Do people need emergency haircuts or some shit? It blows my mind how “important” haircuts are to some people.
This is a useful tracker https://public.tableau.com/profile/peter.james.walker#!/vizhome/COVID-19SeeYourState/YourStateKeys
people are stupid and because they can’t get them they all of a sudden need them. they (the haircuts) have stupidly become a symbol of freedom. Privilege and a sense of entitlement are hella drugs.
Gotta get gussied up to go sit in an enclosed space with other people and eat overpriced food this weekend.
My local barber should be opening soon. I’ll definitely make an appointment. I’ll be as precautious as possible. So will they. I want to support them and I want a haircut. I wouldn’t drive across a border or wait 6 hours. But if I can safely get one, I will
It is amazing to me how many grown men that I know personally have paid somebody to come to their house and cut their hair in the last month. Men in their 60s and 70s. Men who are otherwise following the law, wearing masks, etc. I can't imagine being so vain that you think you need a haircut, but not quite so vain you think it looks good a little shaggy. I haven't got my hair cut in 10 weeks and I frankly look amazing.
until recently I’d shave my own head. Can’t imagine waiting more than maybe 30 minutes for a haircut. I’d just shave it if I was so desperate for a haircut.
60,000 person Spanish Antibody Test showed that ~5% of the population has antibodies. Almost 28,000 people have died out of 58 Million population. IFR of 1.15%. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...-guide-spains-covid-19-response-idUSKBN22U2FG
oh fuck yeah restaurants to 50% capacity in texas now and bars that data of increasing case numbers and deaths every god damn day was just bullshit! thanks you wheelchair bound piece of shit!
It’s mainly a comfort thing for me. I can’t stand long hair and my idea of long is 4 weeks after a .5 to 1 guard in the sides and back.
iirc there was one last week from another country that mirrored these results, can't remember which country in europe or maybe the quarantinis are catching up to me
the fact that the states are opening more and more shit up even when more and more people are getting sick shows they never gave a fuck about us they just had the stay at home orders so they didn’t look like complete shit
MLB had one too. That one seems like it helps explain their mortality rate compared to ours. They just missed a lot of positives and there isn't actually two separate strains.
Do we have a Covid hair thread where people post their current status? That could be fun. I can’t participate because I just got mine cut. Think I went about 13 weeks.
The Florida bar (law) exam is still scheduled for July. Thousands of students in a line at a convention center when they could easily push it to Fall and also already have it scheduled for February.
