The level of wtf coming out of these politicians mouth is incredible. I don't understand if they actually think it helps their cause, or they just don't give a fuck. Or worst case, they are complete lack of self awareness about the perception they give to Americans as a whole.
Day 1 went fine. Unfortunately I think the hospital is the least safe place you can be right now. My hospital in Nebraska takes every precaution to make sure 1. Nurses aren't getting it and 2. We're not ever going to transmit it from patient to patient. For those 2 things to happen you need adequate PPE and adequate staffing. This place has neither. Saw a CNA run into a patient room with no PPE on today because the patient got out of bed and was about to fall. Guy went right back to work.
A lot of schools will be using the hybrid model, phased openings, or online classes only. Technical colleges in Tennessee are using the hybrid model for summer term. Utk and MTSU have already announced plans for on campus instruction for the fall.
Got the e-mail from work today that they're not even starting to think about us getting back in the office until September 1.
Weirdly, a co-worker who was working from a family a cottage near Midland due to COVID got evacuated on Tuesday morning due to the flood.
CDC now saying covid doesn’t spread as easily on surfaces https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...pread-easily-surfaces-objects-cdc/5232748002/
Don't know why I expected a thorough article from USA Today. What's this even mean? How long can it remain infectious on surfaces? Can I get a list of some surfaces and time limits? No? So I'm going to continue to be overcautious and not listen to this vague shit.
Honestly going out to the grocery store or for food and seeing everyone in masks and places closed/empty just makes me feel sad. It is like a sinking feeling
Thats why i was asking in the Covid info thread, is the CDC basing this off of a study or is this just political talk? It sucks we have to ask this about the CDC at this time.
Legendary Auburn coach Pat Dye tests positive for COVID-19, is hospitalized https://www.montgomeryadvertiser.co...ing-positive-covid-19-coronavirus/5234095002/
one of my last days at a grocery store was because I refused to clean a full turd off of a toilet seat that was also smeared on the walls this story checks out
its going to be really interesting how schools especially and sports team broadly handle these circumstances cause people involved with sports leagues and colleges are going to die this fall
I don't know which is why I asked. I would hope the CDC hasn't become corrupted to the point they'd knowingly put out incorrect information.
Because I need to exercise and my neighborhood gym is practicing extreme measures that I feel comfortable with. You have to register a time online and can’t stay beyond your hour block. They then close down between blocks and sanitize each piece of equipment before the next block. I arrived today at 3:50, and they wouldn’t let me in until 4:00. I appreciated that commitment to the rules. This is fake news. But the reason I was at the gym is because I snapped a pedal off at the very start of COVID. They still aren’t sending technicians out for repairs. Today was the first day the community gym was open, so I used one of their bobo bikes and the app to get a class in. Well, fine.
Right but if Trump was looking to blame someone I think they'd be more cautious with their approach. Although it may seem like it at times, not everyone is a super villain looking to do Trump's evil bidding. A lot of people that work at the CDC are lifelong medical professionals and genuinely care about peoples health.
Here’s the updated guidelines. They still say it can be spread by surfaces but that’s not the main way. That’s what they have said all along. I don’t know what the big deal is. I wish they had cited the data behind the claim that it doesn’t spread easily. Maybe the author wrote “as easily” and it was edited by a doofus. Who knows? “The virus does not spread easily in other ways COVID-19 is a new disease and we are still learning about how it spreads. It may be possible for COVID-19 to spread in other ways, but these are not thought to be the main ways the virus spreads. From touching surfaces or objects. It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes. This is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads, but we are still learning more about this virus. From animals to people. At this time, the risk of COVID-19 spreading from animals to people is considered to be low. Learn about COVID-19 and pets and other animals. From people to animals. It appears that the virus that causes COVID-19 can spread from people to animals in some situations. CDC is aware of a small number of pets worldwide, including cats and dogs, reported to be infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, mostly after close contact with people with COVID-19. Learn what you should do if you have pets. Protect yourself and others The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus. You can take steps to slow the spread. Maintain good social distance (about 6 feet). This is very important in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Routinely clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces. Learn more about what you can do to protect yourself and others.”
What cutig said. Trump has spent three and a half years discrediting anyone that doesn’t fall in line.
Azar has been a spineless boot-licker from the beginning. He’s only displayed mettle in the last few days after Birx started started her campaign to publicly undermine the CDC.
