Here’s my take on my brief observation from this past week on my social media and real life interactions: 1) in work, formal settings, or out in public (shopping) ppl still are overwhelmingly being smart (face masks are everywhere) 2) in people’s social lives they’ve abandoned everything because I think they trust family and close friends (not everyone but it feels like the majority of ppl) Also I’m def just as guilty, we started seeing family again, tomorrow we are going to a small friends bbq gathering
What about those Korean studies that showed that fitness classes that are more strenuous led to an increase in Corona cases? Sure they may have shown that people breathing heavier could contract and share the virus easier, but it also subtly confirmed what some have thought for years: Mouth breathers are the worst.
Saw family today. We sat outside, 6-8 feet apart. No masks. Ate lunch and chatted. No hugs, no touching. About all we felt we could do despite all of us being relatively “clean.”

If you disagree that is fine but hard to imagine 50k deaths justifies these incredible measures. 100k would have been tragic but still would not justify this.
Who knows. Hard to say yet whether we made it better or worse. But let’s say double for argument sake. That wouldn’t come close to justifying these incredible measures.
