Amen. I’m so fucking sick of his “we hear you, we see your feedback and it’s driving our decision making” only to then go and do the exact opposite.

I’m not saying I want him to get Covid and have to step down but I’m not not saying it either.

 

I honestly despise the dude. If I hear him use a fucking Magic the Gathering analogy one more time I'm going to lose it. Destiny is not a fucking card game.

 

Whenever Smith is in charge we tend to get nerfed. When Barrett is the lead we feel like powerful space superheroes.

Hope their new game isn’t an Overwatch type game like I’ve seen rumored. Interested to see what Barrett does outside of Destiny, anyway.

 

That's the rumor I've been seeing too. To be fair I could see a hero shooter with Bungie's shooting mechanics being pretty good.

 

Yeah, it’d feel nice. I just want more progression than those games provide.

 

Agreed, not my type of game either.

But they don't require as much upkeep as Destiny and can be loaded up with mtx. So basically Bungie's wet dream.

 

Haven't played in a year or two, but I see a new season hits in a couple of weeks. Can I just buy that for $10, or is there some dlc that I'd have to buy with it? I just have the base game and the first dlc

I’m confused, I assumed it was a teaser for whatever the year 4 content release in Sept will be but some people are saying it’s season 11

It's definitely for the fall. No way this next season is anything that significant.

 

My thought too. And honestly I’m guessing they’re announcing it at the same time the next season is rolling out to distract from the fact that, again, there won’t be anything to it.

 

I think this season will directly tie into the fall as well. Events leading up to the Veil/Darkness finally arriving.

Also been some rumors about next season being about the Deep Stone Crypt which would be cool.

 

despite not having much to do in game, this year has actually given is some good story content that hasnt exactly hit its cresciendo yet

 

The story has been interesting. It's definitely building towards whatever the fall is. It hasn't exactly been executed well at all times though.

Yeah agreed. The Felwinter thing could have been so much cooler. Still some awesome lore but they kind of squandered it a bit.

 

i'll finally be home thursday so i have from then until tuesday to do ALL of this seasons content. wonder how much i can get done.

 

You can at least get the 4th Horsemen and Felwinter's Lie which I would say are the the two major things you would want. Outside of that there honestly hasn't been much outside of a bit of environmental storytelling.

 

Has hoped maybe Bungie would surprise us with something today before the end of the season. But nope, this is easily the worst season in the history of Destiny.

 

i didnt play much but how, coo, and whatever the other d2 y1 season was were all really terrible

 

And yet this is still so much worse. It was literally nothing but bounties and a half asses public event. I wish that was an exaggeration but it isn't.

 

So there's no reason for me to fire this back up?

Nah, people are just saying that because of a bug one of the apps. Bungie has already acknowledged it and said that it is incorrect.

Yeah, originally I thought it would but Bungie said it isn't retroactive so that is disappointing.

 

Live event drops in 45 minutes. Figured I’d knock out a few bounties while I waited and got baboon error code. Now I can’t connect to the servers. They REALLY need to get this mess figured out or they are gonna have a lot of pissed off people for this thing.

I’m back in now... reset my router... I’m on fiber and I actually work for the company who my ISP leases the path from. May just need to see if they run off our gear too and see if I can have one of my techs check the path on Monday. No idea why I hadn’t thought to do that before.

Welp... swing and a miss on my theory. This has passed ridiculous and progressed to the point of stupidity.

 

According to Gladd on twitch, steam announced it is starting at the bottom of the hour, so about 15 more minutes.

I just grabbed a beer and said “fuck it.” Not like I’d be doing anything productive if I wasn’t doing this anyway.

 

Way too long/slow build, but the end was cool. Get the emblem by inspecting the crash site next to Zavala.

an hour and a half of my day that could have been done in 15 minutes and been more effective.

 

I certainly wasn’t expecting nor wanting anything to the level of what fortnite did with Travis Scott, but I can’t help but be a little disappointed. Ah well... time to fill up on completed bounties over the next couple of days in preparation for season 11 launch on Tuesday.

 

I think overall it was cool in the end. Just far too slow. I killed two hours on that essentially.

 

i understand the whole "real time approach" thing, and personally thought it was really cool to see it like that, however, it is a fantasy video game so realism probably isnt super necessary. also they definitely could have warned it would take a while. and if live events happened more often it would have been even less of a deal that this one took hours. i appreciate their approach but they clearly missed the target with it.


but i came here to say if the fall expansion doesnt bring cross play i'm probably done with it

 

I am sure they will learn from this one. I definitely liked it overall. Just took too long. I wasted two hours on it.

Cross platform play isn't a big deal for me. I don't know many that play on PC anyway and I would never enable it for PvP.

 

Any word on what new season will be? More bunker type of stuff
