there’s a big one directly in front of my condo and that’s where they’re gathering for a protest tonight. I’ll be surprised if something isn’t done to it. I tried to get home earlier since the protest starts at five so I could be there but i won’t be home until around 7:30. Hopefully it’s still going on. Not worried about one getting too crazy here
Sees what, the history of black oppression in America? I see it too. Dude, I’ve provided free legal defenses to POC for years. I’ve successfully sued LEOs for civil rights violations. I’ve helped overturn a wrongful murder conviction and gotten innocent men out of prison. I’ve seen, first-hand, how systemic racism continues to harm the black community. It’s not an issue I take lightly or ignore. All I’m saying is that there’s probably a feedback loop going on between the lockdowns and some of the violence over the last week. Do you think that historians looking at 2020 in the future will consider them to be entirely unrelated?

portland had a really nice protest last night - no tear gas, no police assaults, no rioting - and so they lifted the curfew for tonight.
I don’t really know how to analyze protest capacity but this has been going for a while at an absurd volume of traffic. As far as I’m aware it’s peaceful at current.
the “lockdown” has dick to do with the uprising or the “looting”. Fucking Zero. The “economy” has been shit in certain communities as long as we’ve been a country. The police have victimized those communities for as long as there have been police in this country. It’s disgusting and disingenuous for you to try an conflate the two. Did a small protest in Manhattan Beach and Hermosa Beach today. Good crowd, couple thousand, respectful, no incidents.
