I have to buy a gas range, refrigerator, and wine fridge. Hoping to package a deal for all three at the custom appliance place in Columbus. This is basically a spec house for us, so trying to do everything right to increase resale. But it’s gonna be tough for me to swallow spending more than $1200 on a fucking wine fridge
I know man. But don’t skimp or you’ll be facing a dead wine fridge in 2-3 years. Mine is pushing 4k but it’s top of the line, variable speed motor so it’s not loud all the time when running, etc. unfortunately the best brands for fridges and gas ranges don’t do wine fridges well.
yea I more hoping that if I buy all three together at the same place I can get a deal even on mixed brands since it’s an independent distributor
Pretty sure it's the 15 amp, I'l check tonight. Honestly I just have generic extension cords, but longest run I have to make is typically under 25 ft.
Know you're all waiting with bated breath, but I got the house. Real estate agent worth his weight in gold on this one, probably saved me 20k by talking me into an escalator instead of just going out with a higher bid.
Picked up these... To build this... Drill was on sale for $99 at HD, I upgraded from a 12v about after getting the rails up. Complete game changer.
Those are 5/4 x 6 deck boards to keep consistent with the existing fence. Got several quotes, lowest came in at $2,500 (55 per foot). Most of the contractors were booked two weeks out and I got the vibe they didn’t want the work because of the grade and there’s a stump to contend with that inhibits ideal post placement. I’m currently $2k all in so I don’t know how much better I came out, but I get to keep the tools and have the satisfaction of a job well done. I’m going to replace the lower half of the existing fence in the fore ground with Hogwire and cut the gate to 4 feet. We just got a puppy so that’ll be her side run if when have company or need to temporarily contain her for whatever reason. Hopefully something similar to this. Also going to bring in some top soil and sod it.
Yeah, I've definitely got some more wood to chop and plan on adding a facia of some sort. Also need to fabricate a gate, leaning towards a hogwire dutch door hybrid design. Something along these lines minus the giant hole in the wire, with the dutch door functionality. Also, flipping it so the wire is on the bottom for convenient cat travel. Some critical shit to building a fence by yourself; Trigger clamps x 2 A solid jib speed square 4ft level line level post level mason line mucho beers and a cool straw hat
Just got a Water Meter from our city so that you don't have to pay sewer costs on water you use for irrigation, $100 and you have it for life and/or can sell it. Call in monthly to give them a reading, and bring it in once a year to certify. Didn't seem like a bad deal at all.
Nice, I've seen this on commercial buildings. Didn't know they do it for residential Where/how does it install?
i have one of those. just fill out the online form each year. no need to call monthly or bring it in. your township sucks.
I’ve heard that for $800 the city of Fort Worth will come out and install it. I plan on finding out this week
Was supposed to be finalizing plans for AC on Thursday. Instead headed in for surgery to try to clean an infection out of elbow bone. Getting a snazzy PICC for six weeks so won't be able to finish the landscaping. Fucking second surgery already this year. Bcbstx is going to hate me. And I won't have AC when I come home from surgery. So that will be so much fun.
Just picked up a 4 way Automatic Timed controller for my sprinklers so I don't need to wake up at 5am every morning to start sprinklers, hopefully will work flawlessly. And of course another 200' of hose, because you never have enough
the buyers are doing their inspection on my home tomorrow. any preliminary tips to avoid any hassles?
Don’t give them any reason to look into things. Do your best to have the home clean and clutter-free.
Late to the convo but I just cleared about 3,000 sq ft of buckthorn from my front yard and planted low grow fescue a week ago. These things are already over two inches high.
Installed a few wind turbines last week and added a few more sofets for air flow in the attic. Been in the house 5 years and that single fan was all I had and it worked overtime. When cutting them out I did learn that those assholes just put new shingles over the new ones in an effort to cut costs when we closed.
House went on the market today. We were going to buy existing a few cities over (where our parents live) but of course the wife has the building bug. Someone may as well shoot me now.
Yessir, I really want to do solar but only want to if I’m staying here forever. I live by myself in a 4/2 with a pool and two car garage outside of Fort Worth. Bought it at a really good value and fixed it up, not sure if I’ll be here forever though.
So when talking to some roofers I mentioned putting in a fan in the Roof, they stressed to me to seal up any other openings in the roof which didn’t have fans because the fans would pull air from the least resistance and openings close to the fan would bring in super heated air coming off the shingles back into the attic instead from the soffits. They said make sure when the fan runs it doesn’t bring air from anywhere else besides the soffits, so be careful to make sure that’s not happening either. That might have been why they shingled them over.
I had somebody from the U of M Turf science team at my house doing a survey/study of water usage funded by the Met Council. He told me to choose seed high in the following: Fine fescue (goes by names) -creeping red -chewings -hard -slender -sheeps fescue Avoid annuals: -annual rye -Italian rye -annual bluegrass I have dense shade in spots so the fescues which require little sun or water are best.
Yeah I have everything sealed except the sofets underneath my eves, the fan, the 3 turbines, and my pipes for plumbing backflow. Don’t know what else I could seal up.
