Oh boy. Those two already have disdain for me for starting this thread. Pretty sure they both opted to check out of it years ago. Felt like they weren't being fairly treated and they probably weren't as they are both probably good police that we somewhat unfairly ask to explain the actions of bad police. But until they can acknowledge the systemic issues with policing in this country they're complicit IMO. No matter how great of TMB posters they might be.
Both seem like great guys and I'd have a beer with either of them. But if they can't even talk on a message board about some of this stuff being fucked up, you're right, they are absolutely complicit. And that blows my mind. If someone at my job was doing some shit that could jeopardize my company and my job, I'm going straight to upper management about it. It baffles me that more cops don't.
It feels like police tie their existence and personality to their day job more than almost any other occupation. I think that has a lot to do with the difficulty criticizing other members of the same occupation even if they have zero other connections to said members.
