ill be honest at 122 proof and 13 years old it would have to blow me away to be worth $150 vs a $50 15 year 120 proof store pick.
I ordered a bunch of stuff from them last time including hats and shirts and everything was amazing and priced well.
The store I found it at is notorious for markups. They want more for just about everything other than Buffalo Trace. Same store I paid $75 for Stagg Jr
Stupid question but the place I usually buy from has something listed as Henry McKenna single barrel. They don't have a picture listed. Do they make a single barrel outside the 10 year?
I like some. I like the wilderness trail stuff. I like the pappys. I think I like oak the most. I do not like woodford double oaked. I love old fitz.
I was active on my local secondary group today. I raffled an Elmer T. Lee for $195 (because how absurd is that?) and then I bought a Blanton’s SFTB with the proceeds.
Local restaurant is selling Nikka Coffey Grain and Pure Malt for $100 and $115, respectively. Setting aside the fact it's helping a local restaurant, those are pretty high prices, aren't they?
I’ve gotten two in the last two years. I was lucky to get both of them because both times they were behind the counter and offered to me by my go-to spot. I still have one opened and it’s decent. It’s just overvalued in my opinion.
Yeah, I probably wouldn't pay more than about 50 or 60 for one. I'd like to have it in the collection though.
I just took a pour, because I haven't had it since I opened it last year. I appreciate it so much more now. It definitely has a ton of great flavor, but it is still relatively hot, although I think it mellowed since I opened it. The big detraction for me though is the pepper. I am not a huge pepper guy and sometimes the pepper overwhelms and drowns out some of the better flavors.
Every time I’ve tried it, I’ve liked it a little more. I’m on bottle 2 now and going fast. It’s not quite on ECBP level for me, but that’s not a fair comparison either because that’s an all time favorite of mine. It compares very well to any other barrel proof product that you can readily find.
Still haven't tried ECBP. I went with the Larceny for $20 less, but I'll probably go back for the EC.
I don't even try to compare those two. They are so different and both great for what they are. I think a fairer comparison to ECBP is Stagg Jr. They are both flavor bombs. Larceny is high octane wheater.
Was just in there yesterday for Blanton's and saw they had a few. Got my bottle at EZ Package for $51.
Allegedly, according to Instagram, they had 2 bottles of EHT 18yr Marriage just on shelf next to the Blantons this morning.
Has anyone seen a review for this and is there an expectation that the price will ever drop below $1000?
Stopped in my spot today and got to taste this. My guy only got one bottle so he kept it and is letting all his regulars have a pour when they came in. It’s good- not 2 grand good obviously. Tasted like a more complex and mature single barrel. I didn’t pick up much oak at all which surprised me given the 18 yr age.
