Overall meh first episode but wasn’t expecting lots of conflict off the bat. Judging from the previews should be lots of conflicts this season.

The one thing that threw me for a loop was Rip giving out all the orders to the wranglers. I thought Kasey was supposed to be that guy ever since they had the fight to show Kasey is now boss. Did I forget something or is Rip trying to take charge again?

yeah it was john’s plan for Casey to take over. Rip went along with it, John payed him back with the letter and his new house I guess

So if John is ok with rip being “in charge” of the bunk house again, Casey would be ok with it as it is really John calling the shots

however, while I enjoy this show, we are probably reading way to much into it and it was just oversight bu the writers

 

I kinda took it as Casey sets the plan, Rip implements it. But yeah, probably overthinking it.

So I think they’re setting up the reveal for why Beth hates Jaime as much as she does, only to be the one to save him. Or John makes the call to take Jaime out. Think he’s going to go over the top stupid to try and fix his agent killing those guys

yes, when Jaime took the initial call and asked for clarification on the right way to handle

but the whole thing didn’t make sense. they asked for help due to being short on deputies, but there were at least 3 already on scene that we could see. The suspects where already apprehended, and they had her truck and trailer. What help exactly was needed? Just another thing this show does sloppily like the bones, the bomb, the pregnant girl etc. but I’ll keep watching

I knew he was doomed the second John made mention to jimmy bout it being a dangerous way to make a living and hard to keep him on the payroll with a broken arm.

 

Jimmy is pretty much the best character left on the show so I don't know why they'd write him off. Kinda pisses me off.

This story line with the dead guys in the trailer is over the top dumb, even for this show. Jaime is definitely going to get himself in trouble that didn’t need to happen
