Link seems to not be working, I bought the Edifier R1280DB, $129.99 I bought these almost 3 years ago and love them. I mainly bought because they were one of the very few in the $$ range that had an optical connection, very happy with them
Damn it’s out of stock now. Amazon links are hit or miss on desktop Chrome. Nonetheless, it was an Amazon Renewed Blue Snowball ICE Condenser Microphone, was $51.57 or so but there were 11 in stock yesterday. Actually, here is the link for one but idk what the line “usually ships within 1 to 2 months” is supposed to fuckin mean: https://www.amazon . com/dp/B014PYGTUQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Zc0-Eb28YV9XF
Outer Wilds is $17 on steam during the summer sale. If you haven’t played it yet then buy it. It’s incredible.
I finally am moving to a new apartment that gives me control over my own internet package and therefore means to have ethernet. I'm going from playing on PC (and ps/xbox/etc) on 16mbps wifi to 500mbps wired. I am immeasurably excited. Edit: just recalled that the last time I was playing seriously on PC, I just hotspotted off of my phone. That's the level of connection I was working with.
currently out - I'm playing Outer Wilds, Subnautica, Command & Conquer Remastered Coming up - Little Nightmares 2, Cyberpunk, Tony Hawk Remastered
Was directed to this thread - looking for a little help Looking to spend around $1,000 max, but I need something that can lay on its side to fit my entertainment cabinet. One friend recommended this one https://www.bestbuy.com/site/skytec...super-500gb-ssd-black/6409025.p?skuId=6409025 My nephew said to go with Alienware, or an NZXT? I doubt I want to build my own
Obligatory Building your own is not that hard and you will get more bang for your buck. But with that being said, IMO, with Alienware you are more or less paying premium for the name and case. Don’t know anything about NZXT. Edit: I built my PC for $800 or so back in 2013 and the only upgrades I’ve done are adding a new GFX card and a bigger SSD boot drive. Probably $200 in upgrades over almost 10 years and it still runs current games decently at 60FPS
loaded up Call of Duty on my machine after not playing for like 3+ months. Nothing like being greeted by a 91GB patch file.
Doug I would also say go down that rabbit hole of building yourself, but of course only you can choose to do so and decide if it would be worth your time. WIth that said. Dell, Asus, or HP have "gaming" lines of PCs. Those will come with a decent warranty and trustworthy support. Alienware = Dell. Omen = HP, etc. I have a very fast PC that I built myself (and never have bought a preassembled one) so I would read extensive reviews/ratings on anything pre-assembled from the likes of the manufacturer you listed, CyberPower, iBuyPower, etc. And randomly, I only know NZXT to make cases, not pre-assembled/configured machines.
If you are serious about gaming, you'll want a nice video card. e.g. RTX 2060 and higher, though you can go prior generation to save some money (GTX 1080 and below).
I’ll do some more research on building vs pre-built. I built one about 15 years ago and I know I saved some money up front but it took almost an entire day and then I had troubles and had to pay someone to come troubleshoot so I’m a little gun shy. I can plug in ports and screw in parts and all that but if there’s any issues after that I get over my head quick. Any games on steam sale I should look at knowing I’m going to have a computer in the coming weeks. was looking at Green Hell, Warzone, and the wife already wants got Sims 4.
Epic gives away games for free. A couple months ago it was GTA5. Keep your eye on them. UPLAY and Xbox have monthly services that offer their games.
hardware will be the easy part, picking the "right" games will be the hard part. I'm a mouth breather and only play PUBG, COD, FIFA and Tony Hawk. I'll also mess around with the Madden demo or the 10 free hours that I get, but I've never bought it.
If you like rpgs and fantasy medieval settings then you should pick up divinity 2. Don’t worry about not playing the first one.
Who played Metro Exodus? I enjoyed the first two, thinking of getting Exodus on the Steam sale. And after seeing Shadow Warrior 3's trailer yesterday I'm thinking of going back to check out the second one.
Valorant is a free FPS, released by Riot Games. Very good 5v5 round base game. Competitive scene is taking off.
ive been playing again recently. mostly just doing mystery heroes. i love not having to decide who to be.
I'm probably a tier better as Ball than my current rank but lazy dps always want a shield. And then all they do is bitch and sometimes throw if they dont get it. It's tough out here
Just started playing Overwatch on PC. About level 7 and hardlocking genji. Everyone hates me and accuses me of smurfing and no one believes me when i say I just came from console. Had someone tell me to go back to plat and leave them in alone, and they weren't insulting me by calling me plat. This is a weird experience.
I can't say enough good things about SubNautica. If underwater exploration and crafting/survival stuff is your thing, you owe it to yourself to try it. There's a story in there, which seems really good so far as well, but the gold is in the exploration.
My new pc is going to be delivered on Thursday. Am I going to have to buy every game that I already own on Xbox again for pc? Or does it depend on the game?
With physical xbox games, just insert them into the floppy drive. After it reformats the disc into a square, you'll be able to play on PC.
I need to set up a work Desktop. I want it to be juiced to the tits. I need to run Adobe and have expandable hdd space. I plan on running a business that needs a bunch of storage space.
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xsj8Mc I have no idea if this will be any good for you but it's like the most expensive I could find with the minute I had to spare.
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/tomshardware-best-pc-builds-june-2020 They have different budget ranges in there so you can mix/match to what you want.
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Systems/VENGEANCE-280X-Series/p/CS-9030007-NA Any good?
https://www.ibuypower.com/Store/AMD-Ryzen-7-3rd-Gen-Gaming change graphics card to the 5700xt and save you $600.
It looks fine. If you were to do a lot of multitasking with large adobe files, or doing modeling, etc, you might consider doubling your RAM. 16GB is kind of the sweet spot for gaming PCs but since you’re planning on doing heavier on the business side, it could help.
Ditto to 16gb being the everyday sweet spot for a well capable pc. $1900 looks expensive, but I don't know AMD parts/prices.
I gotta say, PC gaming has ruined consoles for me. Zero desire to play my Xbox. Rarely want to play my PS4 even tho I haven’t beaten TLOU2 yet. Played COD and Apex on the box with friends, felt so choppy.
Halo 3 dropped for PC yesterday or the day before. It's available as part of the MCC or you can buy it standalone for $9.99. Will 100% be playing this tonight
