If it can depress Republican voters and keep Their turnout low, it’s absolutely worth it. If they are intent on trying to reclaim the Republican Party instead of just migrating to the Democratic Party and making that their new home, it’s worth it. If they are doing this I service to Biden with the understanding of being rewarded with power in his administration, it isn’t.
At that point you tell them to fuck off. Win the election. There is no current coordination between them and the Biden Campaign. And it operates more successfully if it isn’t tied to his campaign.

I think the good thing here is creating a narrative of a schism in the Republican Party. It’s too often that we talk about Democrats being divided and not often enough about Republicans being in disarray. These ads are very much evidence of “Republicans in disarray” and that’s good. Make them play defense. They kind of suck at it.

I have worked in Tulsa a bunch the last few weeks and was scheduled to have 2 appointments there today. The guy I was meeting for the first one called this morning and cancelled because he felt “fairly sick.” Second guy called not 10 minutes later and started the conversation with “so I tested negative for COVID... but my girlfriend tested positive.” On top of this, both the wife and I have a major sinus pressure and are sneezing a ton. No fever, coughing or sore throat but we are scheduling a test for this week. I always wear a mask and wash my hands religiously. Long story short fuck the mayor of Tulsa and fuck Trump.

The merry band of Trump’s are obviously waaayyy more extreme because he is more extreme but there were and are murals of Obama on walls in this country and others. His name popped up in numerous hip-hop songs, shirts, hats, all of this shit existed. And this doesn’t even go to the discussion of AA voter turnout spiking dramatically in 2008 and 2012, and then falling off a cliff in 2016. There have been discussions on this board where people have said Obama might go down as one of the greatest POTUS, when his legacy is viewed years from now. He was absolutely idolized in a number of communities...he was just actually deserving of it(in most cases).

Project Lincoln is essentially the Soviet Union during WW2. We are “allies” only to get the mad man out of power but on the other side of the election there’s going to be the same old idealogical issues. My personal opinion is they are doing it to perceivably save the Republican Party. Trump has a base but it’s clearly not enough to win an election (fairly). His behavior has run off moderate college educated conservatives and white women in droves. You lose them to the Dems and you won’t win a Presidential election and therefore federal judge nominations (their main focus) for the foreseeable future. Show you still have a soul and win back moderate Pubs over the next few years. House and Senate seats will return when they come back into the fold. They’re sacrificing the next 4-6 years so they can get the party back to where it was in 2010 or so.

The rhetoric of the two groups is as wildly different as can be - my original point was just that Obama certainly had more than his share of followers in the day. Plenty of it had nothing to do with politics - my wife knows nothing about politics outside of how a candidate views public education but she loved Obama because of the person he seemingly was, and I think that’s okay. Other parts had to do with skin color. I’ve been white my whole life, so I can’t imagine what it’s like to suddenly see someone who looks like you moved into the highest position of power but it absolutely makes sense to me that it attracted non-politically-affiliated followers. There is some discussion that the success and following that Obama had had a very real effect on the state of racism today: what’s angrier than a racist? A racist watching a minority group find a voice with power.
