Any recommendations for a pulley system that can attach to a pull-up bar? Saw one in an Instagram ad but not sure if legit or not (pulley pro or something like that). I liked it because it could use dumbbells and kettlebells and not just plates.
I don’t have recs but I would not buy any fitness related stuff off Instagram ads unless it’s from a big company.
You were pressing couches at the beginning of quarantine now you're looking at pull up pulley systems
Getting after it with 65#. First workout a week after the baby came. Just feels good to move around a little bit. American Barbell Mammoth Obsolete Bar... If there is an imperfection I can't find it. Good purchase for a discount... Also one of the few places that had bars. Hopefully should have the rest of my weights 8/1. Still can't find shit for change plates Who knows when Rep will ship my bench I have not eaten well. Hopefully get back to something normal this week.
I just ordered an American barbell training bar off eBay to upgrade. I also couldn’t get the rep curl bar for some reason so I got an xMark. It’s actually great.
My gallon jug workout went way better than expected. Looking like gyms won’t open for many more months here so I’m pulling out all the stops
Went full masks here this week. I think I might just cancel my membership and lift 65# until I get everything in early August. The amount of cases in GA just keeps getting more terrifying each week
If I'm throwing these down on top of concrete in my basement, I don't need to put anything under them or use any rubber glue or any shit like that, right? https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4-ft-x-6-ft-x-3-4-in-thick-rubber-stall-mat The bitch is going to be cutting them, but I'll just call it a forearm workout and yolo.
You don't need glue or anything i have it straight on concrete and its not as hard to cut them as you think. Get an exacto knife and just score the rubber, you don't have to cut it all the way through and just bend it and it breaks pretty evenly.
The blockers on the ends of each board are kind of interesting. I might incorporate something simple like this into my platform
got to deadlift at my friends home gym friday. he got some leftover WISA textured plywood from work for his platform. was nice as hell
Second session with the SSB this morning. I love this thing. Can’t believe I ever squatted without it before.
Does it make sense to replace traditional barbell back squats with SSB or is it more of an additional tool that complements the straight bar?
if you don’t have plans to compete where building experience under a bar is helpful, do what makes you comfortable. when i was in the strongman gym i was told to use the ssb or buffalo bar many times.
I work with a couple people that I think I can help. I don’t advertise myself or claim to be an expert, but if someone asks for help and I think I can add value and make them stronger then I’ll work with them.
I’m not an expert by any means. The SSB is so comfortable is so comfortable and smooth though. I’m sure I will regular BB squat in the future but since I’m not planning on competing I figure I might as well do what is comfortable.
I know it's probably a lot more expensive, but Rogue's folding rack is still in stock and they shipped mine a day after I ordered it even though it said 2-3 week shipping delay
It's really amazing how so many of these companies are just shitting the bed. Any well run company could build so much market share and fans if they were able to operate efficiently.
sorry in advance if captain obvious post. a lot of manufacturing is ass right now depending on how product is sourced. Titan says they source within the US, but that does not mean the stock was produced in the US. anyone who uses suppliers that import their raw materials has been dealing with major delays, different ports could have managed processing shipments better as well. York for example is in PA and was closed for months.
Sure, but the lack of communication. selling things they can't fulfill, etc is just bad. I think most everyone would be OK with delays as long as there is communication
definitely won't argue with that. i was trying to sound smart about the different factors causing delays right now, not excusing poor customer service. i distribute for a few manufacturers that will not reach out when product delays happen and always feel like an ass when i am not aware of delays until deadlines are missed.
Rep finally shipped my bench. Took about 3 Weeks. They said it be 15-20 business days so right on time
I prefer BSN Syntha-6 Gold Standard Whey from Optimum Nutrition used to be a favorite, but that last time I got it I didn't think it was very good tasting
I boitgh muscle feast why protein isolate unflavored last time and it was fine with fairlife chocolate milk. But it's 70 bucks for 5 lbs
I find that my gut prefers whey isolate. I used Six Star, which was relatively cheap, for years but they recently changed and it tastes like feet now. Tried the Amazon and ON and didn't like those either. I used to use Syntha-6 years ago so have a batch of that on order right now. When I drink Casein, I still use the Six Star chocolate.
If you're a Costco member, this is a pretty good deal, especially when it periodically goes on sale in-store: https://www.costco.com/optimum-nutr...y-protein,-80-servings.product.100428750.html
Just please please, for your health and family’s sake, don’t let the slippery slope of Whey lead you to creatine!
