Likely shared this already, encountering a bear in the wild is one of the more tense and scarier situations I've had to experience Was hiking to a high mountain lake to fly fish in Banff, couple miles into the expedition I came across this grizzly enjoying the light rain and doing whatever else he pleased. Didn't seem to mind me - I backtracked a good couple hundred yards with my mace in hand and eyes facing the way I came as much as possible. Came across a black bear with no sow nearby and a cinnamon bear with two sow that I could barely see through the brush and trees. Could afford a good picture, but they look like this:
The dog wasn’t with you right? That would be my greatest fear. The bears are terrifying but they usually do not attack if they are not provoked. A dog can trigger them though and they can pretty much kill the dog just for fun.
First Known Recorded Attack of its Kind. I would guess in 450 million years they've pulled it off once or twice.
Was out on my deck last night and observed a spider catch a beetle in its web and turn it into a cocoon. Felt really bad for the beetle, but life isn’t easy or fair.
