oh yes Now this is excellent television. I’ve not read the book but these period pieces are fantastic in the hands of the right producers and actors and it looks like TNT has done well here.
I thought the show was pretty good. Not amazing but worth a watch. It got me to read the book, which I loved. So I'm appreciative of that
Was disappointed in the ending, the buildup on this serial killer and we only end up seeing him for 20 secs and he dies before we can find his motive
“House of Cards” showrunner Frank Pugliese has been brought onboard to run “The Angel of Darkness,” the follow-up to this year’s period murder mystery thriller limited series “The Alienist” on TNT. Once again the story will be based on Caleb Carr’s popular novel. Actors Daniel Bruhl, Dakota Fanning and Luke Evans are all returning to the new series set one year later in 1897 with Fanning’s Sara Howard opening her own private detective agency and seeking the help of Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Bruhl) and John Moore (Evans) to help her track the kidnapped infant daughter of a visiting Spanish dignitary. As war brews, their search leads them to an enigmatic woman with a murderous past – a woman under the protection of the gang knowns as the Hudson Dusters. No production date has yet been announced. Enjoyed the second book a lot so hopeful for this season. Casting comment Spoiler Roose Bolton making an appearance
Anybody know why they're doing 2 episodes each Sunday? This season is going to be over the second week of August (not complaining, just curious).
Through episode 4 Spoiler I’m glad they made Libby suitably crazy. Sarah’s associates with the strong NY accents make me chuckle. Make me think of Rosie O’Donnell.
End of season Spoiler They axed the whole trial portion of the book. Laaame. Season was just ok imo. Only eight episodes, felt rushed.
