Cynically I think the social unrest and engagement of suburban types would’ve been a fraction of what happened if not for the pandemic. Also, piece of shit in chief is having an impact on people’s trust in vote by mail. I had a conversation about it with my mom and her friends were wondering whether it’s safe.

In my experience casual news observers tend to just assume that if it's in the news there must be some legitimacy to it.
