If you like listening to pods sped up and not sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks, Overcast's is the most clear from those I've heard. Once you get the hang of it, almost everything can be listened to on double speed and some guys like Rogan talk so slow that 3x is easily understood. I probably listen to too many podcasts.
I usually listen at 1.5x or 2x. 3x is inconceivable to me, but more power to ya if you can comprehend it all
Pods sound weird at "normal" speed now. Doesn't take very long to listen at 2x. For me it has to be with my airpods in though. I have a hard time with 2x in the car or through the soundbar. Maybe it just takes some time to adjust to that as well.
Lots of buggy crashing apps on the iOS beta so I reset and restored to a backup pre-beta per the apple instructions. I’m back to how it was except the stupid thing is still on the 14 beta.
My AirPods (acquired late 2017) are struggling to hold a charge. Any new ones coming out this fall or should I just grab some Pros?
Yeah. It gave me the 13.y.x disclaimer and features. I did it again, but just the update and not the update + reset option and it rolled back.
Running an early version of beta software on your primary device is asking for trouble, especially if it’s your phone. I would wait a few public releases while the kinks are worked out.
This isn’t too bad of a beta. Only thing I’ve noticed any significant bugginess is the Apple Watch app and that thing is a train wreck.
Yes. First thing I did. Usually I’m good with it, and don’t mind the little things. The main thing was Amazon Music not playing and I use that a couple hours per day.
Well pour one out for my mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Woke up this morning and it was in a boot loop. Did a time machine restore, successfully booted but it was pretty laggy, CPU load was 90+% all the time, and the fan was running a million miles an hour constantly, and this was even with a minimum number of appeals running as I was trying to reduce the computing load on it. There is a bulge in the bottom middle of it now as well so it won’t lay flat. I was going to hold off until I could get a Mac I wanted with the Apple built chips but I’ve been forced to getting a Mac Mini since I don’t really have any need for a laptop these days. Found the exact model with the mods I wanted on Amazon (sold by Adorama) for $50 less with faster shipping, and since I have an Amazon Prime Visa card, I am getting a shit load of Amazon points as well.
IMessages keeps fucking up for me the past two days on iOS 14. Think I am going to downgrade back to iOS 13. Will miss that emoji search but I can wait on everything else to be fixed up. THink I’m going to go with a fresh install as well. I had an obscene amount of “other” data, probably at least a good two dozen gigabytes, clogging up my phone.
Going back to iOS 13 fixed everything, basically. This Mac Mini is awesome. Motherfucker gets hot though! Something was wrong with my last Mac and I never could get iMessages to work on it. I’ve got it working on this new Mac but it’s not downloading all my messages. Anyone ever had that problem and got it fixed?
iMessage syncing can be very slow and buggy. Might just need to let it run for a day or two to get everything caught up.
Rumors they're going to increase the base iPad Air screen size in the new version. I don't need the giant Pro, so I'm waiting until the new ones are announced.
when is the next ipad release? finally breaking down and getting one for my kids so I can be that parent and figured if the new release is coming soon I can hold out a little longer
Most of their announcements coming September, so I'm banking on that. No idea what Covid will have done to their timeline though.
They couldn’t manufacture new stuff so they wrote some new, pointless feature into the next iOS release that only works on devices with an unsold serial number as of September 1, 2020 or some shit like that would be the most Apple thing ever. New iPhone 11 Pro Max Extra.
I'm having issues connecting my airpods to my work laptop (Dell). I seem to get it to work sometimes, but when I go into a Zoom call, I have no sound at all. Can anyone help me out?
Wife has same issues as you with her airpods. Had to install a new battery on my 7+ to hold me over until the 12 comes out. Charging up a battery 3+ times a day was getting oooooolllllddddd. Got a 3600 mAh instead of the 2900 that came stock. So hopefully It'll last a while between some charges.
Go to the mute button and there is an arrow for options. Click test audio. I sometimes need to turn mine off and then back on to get them to connect. Make sure it’s choosing the AirPods for the audio device.
Anyone have a Mac Mini and like/dislike it? I have an air that hasn’t been used as a laptop in like two years—it stays connected to my big monitor at all times. It seems like I’d get a lot more for my money versus a MacBook, especially since the main reason I want it is for photo editing and similar adobe suite work.
I recently got a Mac Mini and have used it for the exact same reasons and it does plenty well. But I upgraded to the i7 and 16 GB of RAM
https://function101.com/ ordered this remote a long time ago and it finally came in. It's so basic and so great. Works flawlessly and has actual buttons including a power button to turn off the tv.
Picked up some AirPod Pro's for my birthday ($220 on Amazon). I got almost 3 years out of my original AirPods.
what setup do you have with it, connection wise? I just purchased one that’s supposed to be delivered next Friday. We have a monitor that has usb-c, display port, mini display port, and hdmi. I can’t find anything to say what the optimal connection is for best display. I’m probably over thinking
My monitor is 2K, I can’t fit a 4K monitor where my computer is, and it does either mini display port or HDMI so I have it connected via HDMI
But there are no display port or mini display port ports on the Mac Mini. He’d have to get a display port to USB-C cable if he wanted to use display port.
