That was my main point. How fucking selfish do you have to be to not go get tested, even if it is just to ease our concerns before hanging out with you. I told my wife to do whatever she wants yesterday after 2-days of subtle comments. She said she wouldn’t hang out with them because “you’ll blame me if one of the boys catches it.” I told her she is 100% correct. I tried explaining that there is a broad range of symptoms, but of course no one listens to me.
Family member who tested positive last month checked her temp 4 times a day (temporal) and was never higher than 99.0 at any point.
Maybe not the best place to put this, but finally got to see my mother over the weekend for the first time since March. Fuck Covid so much. She's so frail, we could barely get her to look up and focus and she was just a shell of my mother. I can't directly blame the virus as he had been getting worse, but not being able to see her for five months is time I will never get back. We're probably looking at weeks to months at this point and if somebody comes to me right now with any shit on how this isn't worse than the flu, I might snap.
Looks like Texas positivity rate is going down, which is good. Case numbers are relatively steady. Hospitalizations have steadily gone down past two weeks. Interested to see numbers today and Tuesday to see if there are any spikes due to late weekend numbers coming in Hopeful that the mask mandates are working. Need some type of good news, no matter how small
The parents of my 9 year old son’s best friend own an assisted living facility. They have had to abide by all manner of state guidelines and submit to frequent testing since March. Despite safeguards they had two employees and a few residents test positive. Now the mother tested positive and has been miserably symptomatic for a week, and my son’s friend (also 9)has been symptomatic with fever, chills and body aches, too. So much for kids not getting sick.

Could depend on where the person is and how the question is asked. If someone interpreted as locally and live in NYC or another community that has done a better job of safety measures...then it's reasonable.
If you are a Dem in a place where cases are decreasing you might truly consider it “somewhat” under control.

Ohio seeing big reversal in numbers after state mask mandate and bars close at 10pm rules. Seems to have had a big impact in a short amount of time of course school starts this week or next everywhere so that ought to be interesting

Relative just said and I’m summarizing but pretty much said “the covid-19 death rate is 0.04% so it’s kinda like the flu and everyone will just have to get it and some people a small % will die, I know that sounds bad but I guess that’s just the way it is.” Where are they getting 0.04%? and to answer everyone’s questions yes this is a Florida Man and Trump supporter (duh).
