Recommendations for good dinner spots along 30A? We are staying in Sea Grove. Went to Bud and Alleys last night. Looking at: Vue in 30A, George's, Cafe 30A, The Great Southern Cafe, Borago, The Surfing Deer, and Pescado.
Pescado is good. Vue was pretty good, just very standard white table cloth food, not very interesting. amici has good italian food but it's up on 98 so you may not want to drive that far. Perfect Pig is more interesting than Vue if you're going to one right in that area.
Stinkys and Shunk Gulley Are two of my favorites. The Bay is also great but not on 30a. Great views of, you guessed it, the bay though. We were there last week and all have outside seating and all of the staff were wearing masks.
Sorry bud. We will just have to disagree. I was there last week and stayed across the street, it was very not great.
My wife and I have driven over to 30a 4x during Covid. Open salty air is the only thing we do other than stay at home :/
We are hitting Sunnyside/Laguna Beach in a few weeks. It’ll be the first time away from home since the 2019 holidays. I am beyond excited. To keep on thread, I eat Back Beach BBQ for breakfast about 3-4 times when I’m down there. They make legit breakfast tacos.
Did Edwards for apps -baked oysters with lobster butter and the crab cakes then walked to Pescado and had dinner upstairs. Had the foie gras meatballs and seafood fettuccini
Also it really freaked me out that none of the servers had masks on . In this whole restaurant of 200 people not a soul had a mask on. Fucking nuts. We are on a pretty strict regiment in terms of covid back home and we haven't eaten out in months and thought we'd give it a go on vacation. Gave me anxiety.
Welcome to the panhandle. I will say Stinky’s did make everyone mask up. this is why I don’t eat indoors these days.
we havent even been eating outdoors because it is too damn hot. but yah, for the rest of this trip i may implement an outdoor dining only rule
Where I am at in the LBC, they require the wait staff to have not only a mask, but a face shield. It would feel weird super weird to walk into any business establishment with a customer facing employee not wearing a mask.
Etoufee is a smothering dish served over rice. Thickness is where it sticks to the back of the spoon. Roux based with crawfish fat as the preferred agent. Contains trinity (bell pepper, onion, celery), okra, tomatoes/tomato paste, bay leaf, Cajun seasoning, etc. Often topped with green onion and/or parsley. Honestly, other than containing seafood and rice, it has almost no similarity to paella.
But I should know it, I did a paella with the brother in law and it was important that the rice was crispy
I look at your dishes and regret so much that the bes fren doesn’t do seafood / any level of spice really limits things
Trying to incorporate some vegetarian meals into the rotation. Made eggplant Parmesan last night and it’s probably my favorite non smoked meat meal I’ve made. I had never had eggplant parm before so I’m just Hoping it tasted how it’s supposed to!
