I didn't want to say anything about anything as you went in but, yeah, I think people were generally disappointed with season 2. Season 1 was so impressive I think it's just hard to follow. I don't think a lot of people disliked it but I think most people agree it's the weakest season of the 4. Still better than like 95% of anything else on TV but not quite as good as any of the other 3 seasons. My season rankings would be like this... 4 1 3 2 And, yeah, breaking out Mr. Roboto felt awesome. I was just sitting there with a big grin on my face as it started playing. Seems most of the show's fans were basically waiting for it to be in an episode. I never really thought about it but when it came it was perfect.
I always wanted it to be the theme song just because so it was a great touch to have it in an episode. Can’t disagree at all on the season rankings. 2 was still good TV, but relative to the other seasons, it was pretty mediocre.
I know Mobley wasn't real and neither was her little brother, but goddamn I hope someone took that kid to see The Martian. At the very end of the finale when all of his personalities gathered in the theater I found myself thinking about that poor kid.
Are you talking like real in the sense that they're fictional characters or in the sense that you think they were just in Elliot's head in the show? They were real in the show.
oh I thought the happy Elliot (the one who wakes up at the very end) was the real version and Mobley, her brother, etc. were solely a part of the mastermind/hacker Elliot's made-up world or whatever.
The one who wakes up at the end is the real Elliot but all the stuff that happened throughout the show was real. It's just, for the most part, the Mastermind was the one we saw experiencing it. The real Elliot personality was trapped in the made-up world we only saw briefly.
Finally finished watching this last night; had only had gotten through season 2 before. Just, wow. That was some seriously engrossing television.
So I just finished season three. Is it safe to come in here or should I stay out? I watched seasons one and two live but hadn’t watched past that until I just binged 2 and 3 this week.
Started this last week. Been reading this thread up to where I am. Started noticing in S2 on the subway people started wearing masks, then gas masks. No one mentioned that in here.
So the only thing that I can think of at the end of the series is - what if the machine had worked? We never got to find out and now we never will.
I don’t think the machine was anything but a terrorist’s dream to kill people and take them to the other world (afterlife?) so they could “live” the life they wanted
Yeah. That’s what Darlene said too but I think that White Rose thought it was something more than that. Maybe because she was delusional. Maybe because she intended it to do something more than that. If it was only a bomb, then she wouldn’t have been trying to move it to the DRC. (Unless it was a big enough bomb to take out the whole world.)
Just finished. What a ride. It reminded me of the watchmen in that minor details sprung up episodes or years later. A rewatch is in order.
Recently finished. Niiiiice. Why did Whiterose give Elliot the ability to stop the machine? Not sure why she gave him an out.
