Man what is going on. Entered one just because a friend insisted and got a Weller Single Barrel. I want to stop but keep winning these damn things.
I think I’m going to buy a raffle ticket. That would be quite the haul. https://rafflecreator.com/pages/11955/new-hampshire-liquor-and-wine-outlets-buddy-up-raffle
Yes that’s a lot a great bottles. You will never have better than a 1 in 1,186 chance. I’m sure it’s a great charity, so “enter” if you want, but do so as a charitable donation and say goodbye to your $100. Spoiler
Lol. I saw that and said please let me find the sucker that will pay that. Edit: Unless that generous high class individual resides on TMB. Then you would be a person of fine taste. If you are that person please dm me and I will deliver said ofc 1994 to your door in exchange for $12,000 in us currency.
Relieved I didn’t win. Shutting it down for at least a week. Had money on a PVW20 to try to finish out the pappys
What do we think of these deals on Barrell? I got some Dovetail from them a couple of weeks ago Spoiler 1) Barrell Whiskey Private Release Kentucky Whiskey Oloroso Sherry – Blend # AH07, 120.88 proof Grapes Sale Price: $89.99/btl Barrell Whiskey Private Release AH07 is a blend of Kentucky Whiskeys, the largest component being 18-year-old Kentucky whiskey, finished in an Oloroso Sherry barrel. One of 24 releases in this series, there is very little of this to go around. We will be lucky to get 3 or 4 out of these 24… As a point of comparison, Angel’s Envy has recently brought their Oloroso-finish bourbon to the marketplace, sporting whiskies aged from 4-9 years and a $450 price tag!!! 2) Barrell Craft Spirits Bourbon Cask Strength Single Cask – Barrel # G613, 114.4 proof Grapes Sale Price: $79.99/btl The unanimous “Private Barrel” selection of our spirits team last fall, the G613 barrel is a spicy and complex 14 year Tennessee bourbon that never fails to please. Each single barrel is a true single barrel - bottled at cask strength without combining it with any other barrels, unlike Barrell batches, which are bottled from a selection of several barrels blended together to a specific flavor profile. 3) Barrell Whiskey Infinite Barrel Project Cask Strength – Bottled March 15th 2018, 118.4 proof Grapes Sale Price: $59.99/btl For years, whiskey aficionados have been dumping last bits of whiskey into fuller bottles, topping up their rye with a bit of leftover Irish whiskey or a glug of Speyside scotch – maybe the bourbon your father-in-law took one sip of? In the spirit of this experimentative pastime, Barrell regularly puts out these “Heinz 57” whiskies, keeping back a portion to go into the next Infinity bottling. Honestly, this is my favorite thing Barrell does – just for the fun factor. This was the 2nd release, crafted and bottled in Kentucky at 118.4 proof. It’s a blend of Tennessee whiskey and rye, Indiana whiskey, Polish malted rye, Scotch whiskey and Irish whiskey. 4) Barrell Craft Spirits 15 Year Bourbon Cask Strength – Batch #002, 106.52 proof Grapes Sale Price: $199/btl 99/100 points newbourbondrinker.wordpress.com Beautiful nose, Milk Duds, cotton candy, and Rolos in the front, all candy and deliciousness. Deeper dive brings out notes of graham cracker s’mores, fresh luxury car seat leather and cracked roasted peanuts. At 106.52 proof you don’t even get a hint of heat even if you stick your nose all the way deep in the glass—almost unheard of. Perfect balance of oils and tannins and flavor and just enough hug to let you know this is a Bourbon. The mouthfeel perfect coats the entire tongue and the upper sides of the cheeks. The candy and nut flavors rush in and build over time. I’m amazed by the finish here, more than three minutes and never dries off in a bitter note. (The finish might actually be closer to five minutes) I think this might be the best whiskey I’ve tried this year; it certainly has impressed me more than any of the BTAC line… I didn’t know what to expect after last year. Last year was insane and had so much hype. How could they possibly follow up after that one? Well… they did and I think they even eclipsed it. This Bourbon is phenomenal…
That’s a good price on the 15yr. I really enjoyed the sample I had, but I don’t know if it was 2019 or 2020 release (it was 106.52 proof) Think others here have been split on how much they liked it.
Ordered at $129 + $10 shipping. The mix sounds strange. I am curious though, because I have really enjoyed them all so far.
if it's your first ETL and you got it for $45, I suggest you just enjoy it. It's not $200 good, but it's $45 good. If you had found 2 I would suggest selling the other.
Its good but its classic case of rarity driving price up. I keep an ETL and Blantons on the shelf just to make guests feel like they're getting a pour of my good stuff and trade any other ETL I get my hands on.
I’m still of the opinion that he should sell it and get a sample from someone ITT. It’s selling too high on the secondary to validate opening it
I passed on LB Ch 4 here because brown rice or whatever the schtick is this year doesn't do it for me
Yes, that was my hangup too, but it is LB, so I am assuming he somehow brings it together. I had similar concerns about #2 with the Canadian whiskey's and that was exceptional.
Has this been discussed yet? I'll be interested to see how it stacks up to Rare Breed. https://www.nc-whiskey.com/russells-reserve-13-year-barrel-proof-bourbon/
Nope. I was ordering the Nobiliary for a friend for his birthday, because he loves rum and I saw they had it so picked it up. Was also running low on my 2007.
