Honestly, I've been pretty underwhelmed by the 2YO's this year so far outside of maybe the top couple of horses coming out of the Hopeful (Jackie's Warrior and Reinvestment Risk) and maybe Freedom Fighter, a debut winner for Baffert. Seems like Jackie's Warrior is setting up to be a pretty big favorite in the Juvenile, but even with him, I can't say I like him as much as I liked some of the other recent favorites. Compared to last year, I liked Dennis' Moment, Tiz the Law, and Maxfield more at this point than I do Jackie's Warrior (clearly those three ended up being a mixed bag).

All that to say, this division is pretty wide open for a newcomer to come in from not one of the major circuits and surprise a bit in a race like the Juvenile (not necessarily talking about Huntsinger, just more of a general thought), kind of like a horse like Hansen did in 2011 (and that turned out to be one of the better Juveniles of the decade).

We are seriously considering the breeders cup juvenile. Agree that other than Jackie’s warrior the crop hasn’t impressed and I’m not convinced that horse wants two turns

Won't be betting much on the Preakness, but I do like Art Collector to beat Authentic. There's a little more speed to keep Authentic honest. Swiss Skydiver is usable underneath, but Art Collector already handled her pretty easily in the Blue Grass, she'll have to beat me on top. Pneumatic is the longer priced horse that I'd be most interested in using. And if you want to take a flyer on a very big price underneath, Excession took a big step forward last time out when he finished 2nd to Nadal by less than a length in the Rebel, and he was 7 lengths clear of the 3rd place finisher. Now the concerns with him - that race was in March, and he's had health issues since then. It was also on a wet track, and he may just move up on a wet track. And finally, he was a horse that was running in the middle to upper 70s until he jumped up to a 95 Beyer in the Rebel. But 3YO's are liable to suddenly improve in the Spring, so that doesn't concern me as much. I wouldn't recommend him at 10-1, but at 45-1? He's a little interesting.

Obviously didn't cash on the race, but glad to see Swiss Skydiver get the win. She has put together one hell of a resume this year.

$231,073 in purses this year. I set a target of $250,000 last December for 2020.

    2019 purses were $68,776

We always looked at it as more of an expensive hobby. Been in the harness biz for 20+ years, we are going to have an aged pacing mare in the Breeder's Crown this year on the 31st at Hoosier Harness. First one in the BC since the early 90's. I remember that because I recorded that race on a freaking VHS tape, finished 3rd.

Anyway, name is Rockin Nola. In tomorrow at Hoosier for the aged mare pace in race 10 if you want to check her out. Only a couple races left before she's off to be a broodmare.

Their lawyer requested an extension until Monday to respond to my request for documents and an itemization of expenses. So far haven’t received anything. Probably because they just totally made up the expenses

If I don’t receive the info by Monday then I’m filing the lawsuit I drafted on Tuesday

Keep me updated man. I'll check him out when he gets up and racing.

Basically entirely Indiana and Ohio currently, but want to get back to the Meadows at some point. Had a few at the Red Mile this year.

Mentioned it above, Nola is racing in the 10th at Hoosier tonight. Will be a bad betting race as she's going off at 6/5 most likely, but good betting night tonight. Sire Stakes finals before the Breeder's Crown elimination and finals the next two weeks.

    Will do.

the guy who started was my 8th grade football coach who did harness with his dad, but after his dad passed he quit out of depression. COVID got him back into it.
He posted on it on Facebook (my mom shows me since I don’t have)and I reached out to him and I bought a % after talking to him about it.

I will tell you once he starts racing.

Kind of ironic, Nola was the last horse my Dad bought before he passed in June of 18. Now she's the two time (2 and 3yr) Indiana filly pace state champion and going for the 3peat tonight in the aged division and possibly, Breeder's Crown. He had a few that were close, but never this good. Really wish he was around to see all this so I get it with your friend getting back in, it's therapuetic. I could hardly watch her race that first summer, but really enjoyed this run. Hope she finishes out her career strong this month.

If you have expressbet or anything, she had a race last month that is on replays at Sciota Downs in Ohio (09/06) that was unreal. Got parked the entire mile and still raced them down in the stretch. Was first her first time on a 5/8 track ever. Classic stalker, loves to get way wide in the stretch and just pick everyone off.

Yeah, she beat the same group pretty easily in the eliminations last week and should go off as the clear favorite. Haven't made much on her betting unless you cliff jump except for the Sciota race where she somehow went off at 13-1. Ended up banking a couple thousand that night.

1st quarter with her is key, she doesn't love racing on the front so when she finds spots of trouble is dropping back and then if the 1st quarter is over 27, then she has to move early. She gets super bored and uninterested setting the pace.

Short write up on Nola from ustrotting.com today.

Rockin Nola (Joey Putnam) also added another Indiana Sires Stakes trophy to her collection after she was a convincing winner in the $50,000 Aged Mare Pace.

Rockin Nola sped by leader Rockin Serena after the first quarter-mile in :26.2 to assume control and never looked back. She defeated It’s Time For Fun (Kyle Wilfong) and Dojea Rita (Trace Tetrick) in 1:50.1 after setting fractions of :54.3 and 1:23.1.

Owned by J P Racing and Suttons Bay Racing, the 4-year-old daughter of Rockin Image-Gottogetoutmore, who is trained by Joe Putnam, now has a record of 41-20-9-4 and has amassed $547,907 during her career. This is her third Indiana championship victory as she won the both the 2- and 3-year-old contest for her sex and gait.

got a bunch of calls on this one and didn't really want to sell.

my partner on huntsinger called me this morning to see if i would consider selling him a portion and we got a deal done.

either going to the clever trevor at remington a week from friday or the $125,000 nyquist on the breeders cup undercard on 11/6 at keeneland

That's the business for sure. Went from full to a third to half on Nola the past 2 years.

She drew a bye into the final btw. Will be in there with the top 10 aged mares in the country on the 31st. Finding a ticket this year has been a bitch, I’m just going to jump the paddock fence I think.
