Cavill is pretty good but he does get cast as the super serious/bland good looking guy sometimes. His role was the same monotone grunt talk in The Witcher
Just finished this.. was going to recommend in here. My stomach turned in knots when he said his daughter said daddy no..fuck that guy
Watching now and immediately was like he did it when he went off on the most detailed timeline ever. Then he said he worked for Anadarko and I remembered the whole story.
my two youngest watched it with my wife and said this is what broke their hearts the most. They see me as their protector they couldn’t imagine what the daughters felt knowing the person they trust the most to keep them safe was the one ending their lives. It’s beyond heartbreaking.
that’s something that kids should know about but my god can this be traumatic. Props on you for having an open discussion with them about it, or your gf. That’s tough
Watched it last night as well and let me tell you I am outraged. I enjoyed the dad tactic on the interrogation, which I also fully expected him to unload a fist to his sons head in the process.
I have 2 around the same age as his daughters. I just can’t even imagine how that thought enters his mind.
I fully expected that towards the end as well. I think what saved that was him telling his dad it was his wife who killed the girls, not him.
rational person trying to make sense of the irrational. Don’t try and be grateful you will never understand.
Followed the Watts case closely back when it happened. I remember seeing the interview of him (the one where he's wearing the UNC shirt) right after they went missing and immediately thinking something felt off. The way he was acting when the neighbor was showing the security footage was chilling. Literally looking down at this phone almost the entire time because he knew he was totally fucked. Also the portrait she painted on Facebook was so incredibly different than what was taking place. Obviously I realize posting all your marital issues on social media would be weird, but you really got the feeling they had a pretty perfect relationship/life when you looked at her posts. Some Crime Viral page I follow posted this the other day: This scene in American Murderer: The Family Next Door is going to stay with me for a long time. When Chris Watts finally confesses to his father. He just realized he’s lost his grandkids and daughter-in-law forever but still reaches out to his son and holds his arm. You can see the heartbreak and reality finally settle in.
Yeah you could see point when the Dad no longer believed Chris and was just like, I need to get this confession out of him but holy shit where did I go wrong.
If you like BBQ at all, Chef’s Table BBQ is really good. Good variety from episode to episode showing different styles, people, places, etc. There’s also Great American BBQ Showdown, but that’s a top chef style competition so a different vibe.
It is so weird how she documented her life with video blogs on Facebook That is a sign that someone is dying inside/has mental problems
Yeah it was beyond weird. Like making him go back down the airport escalator and come back up so she can record him greeting the kids? Really strange. I also know that social media is a big part of one’s life when they’re into the multi-level marketing shit like she was. So that obviously was a big part of it too. I just know there’s no way I personally could be in that sort of a relationship. I’m absolutely not victim blaming by any means. Instead of splitting up, the dude murdered his wife and kids and deserves nothing but the worst for the rest of his existence.
When the dad came in and already knew that tells me that there’s a whole lot more shit about Chris Watts that we weren’t shown. There had to be red flags everywhere. For a parent to walk in and just be unphased by their adult son murdering his family is something else.
I thought his dad seemed to be affected by it tbh. Can't even imagine how I'd react in such a situation so I suppose it's tough for me to say.
Just watched American Murder How it was made with all the police body can footage was interesting. Don't think I've seen a doc made like that before But holy fuck at the last 10 minutes. Was not expecting a confession. That's one of the most horrifying things I've ever heard. Literally got sick during it. He was so nonchalant about it
The fact the kids thought this dude was a hero all the while your kids were either alive or dead in the same car as your wife you just murdered is insane. Think she tried to put out to everyone that they had this perfect marriage, but the whole Facebook was crazy to me
I also love how interviews and interrogations work. They start out telling him how he’s in such great shape and probably gets a lot of attention from women lol
Don’t think it was mentioned much in the doc if it all but they were in an insane amount of debt, I definitely think that played a big role
Yeah the debt thing is definitely true. Remember reading about it. There are some videos out there that show a lot more of the texts too.
when she went to the cops it was so obvious she was lying to them, she almost looked like a child trying to lie, she was to emphatic. that being said, she probably pushed him hard to dump his family but there is no reason to think she wanted him to kill them.
I haven’t made a decision yet as to whether or not the mistress was lying to the cops. The texts make it pretty clear he was lying to her a lot but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. I want to believe she simply went to the cops because she saw the missing persons report and finally was smart enough to piece everything together. The shit she was googling was obviously weird and doesn’t help her case at all. Facebook internet detectives are theorizing she was involved and in the truck the night it all happened solely bc there was a passenger side light on or something.
I’m 99.99% sure I saw the original neighbor video on here. If we saw it here it had to be a major story locally.
You mean the surveillance video they were watching in his neighbor’s living room? Oh yeah that’s everywhere. I haven’t rewatched to see if the passenger light theory has any legs. Seems pretty dumb to me.
I think my favorite part of it all was the woman administering the test. "Man you'd have to be a complete idiot to agree to do this if you were guilty"
I don’t think she ever said anything to him about killing his kids or wife but how can you watch this and not think she is lying. First she doesn’t even let the cop finish before saying NEVER! Never! And what mistress doesn’t bitch about the wife, i mean she was shopping for a wedding dress for crying out loud. I am definitely assuming some stuff, but it’s just common sense imo. Starts at 0:18
Maybe she was shopping for the dress because she believed he and Shanann had split like he told her. Don’t get me wrong, it’s weird either way to start dress shopping after two months.
She also did a bunch of research on how much money amber frey made on her book deal after Scott Peterson/laci peterson
Think this was posted somewhere on this board but this is a good watch too. Dude was just an awful liar and a moron.
The look on his face when the cop radio'd in from his home.. holy shit lol.. i missed that completely
That guy is my type of neighbor I'd be shocked if he doesn't drink beer and watch red zone all Sunday
