Because unlike any other sports game, the rosters are updated every couple months instead of weekly. The first update always breaks the game because all of the rookies that are playing in the AHL get removed from the game even if they era CHL players the prior season that were in the game. So you have to wait until November/December for the 2nd roster update where the young players have signed their AHL licensing agreement.
I'm down to FIFA being the only EA game I buy. it's a shame because for probably close to two decades, NHL was my favorite game almost every year.
FIFA definitely has its warts, but I still enjoy the gameplay for the most part. I don't play nearly as much as I used to at this point in my life, so it's just something to do when I turn my mind off for a while at the end of the day.
I bought that this year and it's good, but I just don't have the time to put into it to really enjoy it.
I've spent hours playing NHL without actually playing game play. I just like playing franchise modes in games. I'll usually only play elimination playoff games or something
nhl games are shit i just use the ea access pass and play it a year late if i get bored like ohhaithur was talking about
What is the value of Stamkos, especially under the current circumstances Tampa finds itself? I would totally do a second plus a kid like Cholowski for him. That’s about all I could justify offering though, considering the Tampa cap crunch, his injuries and then his age and contract.
is there more to his injury story than whats out there? seen this posted a couple times and not sure what it is referencing
I hope teams hold Tampa to the fire for this one. They have zero leverage. Wonderful opportunity for a team with cap space to get him cheap.
Big potential for either team to look real bad in a Stamkos trade imo. He’ll only be 34 when his deal is up so he could still produce in a big way until the end of it- or he could struggle to fully recover and giving up prospects to pay that salary could get you fired.
Will be interesting to see how they handle their crunch. 3 million in cap space now to sign Cirelli, Sergachev, and Cernak. Even bridging them would be hard, because the only sizable deal they have coming off the books in the next 2 years is Palat at 5.3, and Point’s starting block for his next deal at the same time is probably 9 or 10. They may need to give away Gourde for basically nothing and then buy out Johnson or something.
lol at canada allowing fans at games they wouldn’t even allow the blue jays to play their games there because they were traveling
it is really upsetting people that our RFAs don’t want to leave. Canadiens wanted to do it to point before they gave aho a sheet last year and he said no thanks.
no one thinks any of them are going to leave people just want to force the lightning to dismantle the rest of the team imo
even that is difficult. I definitely see a scenario where killorn and palat get traded instead of Johnson though. Or gourde. Mcdonagh could be also but I still think the most likely thing is 2 of the 4 ~$5 million forwards moves. We probably get something for one of them and bribe a team to take Johnson.
So what do the divisions look like? Canadian Toronto Ottawa Montreal Winnipeg Calgary Edmonton Vancouver West San Jose Anaheim LA Arizona Vegas Colorado St. Louis Dallas Atlantic Tampa Florida Nashville Carolina Washington Philly Pittsburgh Northeast Detroit Minnesota Chicago Columbus Buffalo Rangers Islanders Devils I have a headache trying to figure this out
Canadian division will be Vancouver Calgary Edmonton Winnipeg Seattle LA Ducks Sharks No fucking way Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto are with the western teams. That would be such a disadvantage for everyone involved.
Exactly. The difference is crossing the border. Most likely they will have a Canadian division as it makes sense from a 2 week quarantine perspective.
