This is absolutely the most likely finish for this team. Only thing worse would be something like 7-9 and we hire RM full time
I'm fine with either getting #1 and going Trevor or top 3 and taking one of Sewell/Parsons while we live with Ryan's contract for the next year or two. I'm preparing myself for everything but mostly picking in the mid-teens.
I’d rather get the qb now and wait out Ryan’s contract than go multiple years with a Ryan Fitzpatrick until we finally draft the starter of the future. There are probably 4 qbs in this draft I’d be ok with rolling with post Ryan
That's fair, but I wouldn't want Fields at this stage. I will catch shit for the Dawg/Kirby angle here, but I'm not sold on him coming out from under the Meyer/Day offense and translating well to the NFL. I'd really only want Lawrence at #1. If not, just go Sewell/Parson if we are in top 4-5 range and they're there. If we are top 4 pick but not #1 and Sewell is there, I'd want him. Then go all defense the rest of our picks.
If we cant get a top QB really hope the new GM finds a way to trade down, we just have so many holes thanks to our past drafting success
I'm ok with this as well if someone wants to come up for a QB. I'd like to do some fleecing for once.
I think fields is objectively a better qb than the past few from OSU. I’m not convinced that Lawrence is THAT much better than fields. who is in next years qb class that would be interesting?
If we bring in Bienemy/good offensive minded head coach, maybe he can salvage Matt Ryan for a couple seasons? If so, forget about QB for a minute and focus on fixing this defense in the draft.
Just seems like a strategy that will end up with us overpaying a Kirk cousins type down the road. Take the qb now and build around him while he is cheap in my opinion
I'd take the kid from NDSU over fields. I think he's gonna be a beast bust scary he only has one year. Should have transfered
I think we ride Ryan until it's obvious he's washed. Just hard to tell when he's playing for Koetter.
I will admit that I do not like Matt Ryan at all and just want to move on. There’s just not one exciting thing about watching him play.
Can’t we cut him after next year with basically no penalty? Let’s just do what the ravens did with flacco and Lamar Jackson
Sewell is supposedly a generational talent at OT. I’d take him over Fields, and just sit with Ryan’s contract for another year or two.
All this BS in social media about how Raheem deserve a real shot is my nightmare. The guy wouldn’t even be on a list of candidates to replace DQ, but because we have to stick somebody there in the interim role, he should get a look? To hell with that. A) he’s been our DC as we’ve trotted out one of the worst Ds in the league, and we want to let him fail upward? B). He’s already been a HC and failed what part of that resume screams to hand him the keys?
I can't fathom a scenario where we hire a new GM and he decides to settle on Raheem fucking Morris as his head coach. Let us all welcome Raheem Morris as the Falcons new head coach.
The fact that we are still doing the thing where one coach calls 1st/2nd down and another coach calls 3rd down should be reason enough to not hire him as HC.
Carolina, Denver then bye the next 3 weeks. It really is important we lose today and then at least 1 of the next 2. 4-5 at the bye with Morris being 4-0 is my nightmare
Gage just got hurt pretty bad. That sucks for him but definitely helps the tank. There’s a huge drop off at WR after him
it seemed like a reaction flag because the hit happened so fast. I know I wasn't expecting a tackle like that from anyone on the team
They went deep in the playbook for that one. Ran it in practice twice this week but didn't think they'd call it in game.
Only thing better on an NFL resume than being a young offensive guru is being a HC who was recently fired.
Morris doesn’t understand time management either. Just baffling how coaches can be so poor at this and how the FO just allows it to happen week after week.
Not watching the game but just read the play by play. Can someone explain this decision to me? Why not kick a FG to go up 17-13? 4th & 5 at DET 13 (11:57 - 4th) (Shotgun) M.Ryan pass incomplete short left to I.Smith (T.Flowers)
Going for it on 4th, Ryan underthrowing wide open guy, wasting our last timeout on pretty obvious catch. Now this is tanking!
